Day 11 Eating to live: time to refocus

Day 11
I was cheating to live and expecting it to work again... silly me. I was like a maniac last night but more about that later.
Breakfast – good, small bowl of oats with a few fresh blueberries to sweeten it up. I like to mix them in when it’s still hot so the blueberries kind of burst with juice.  Yum... then a banana, almond milk, strawberry smoothie with a little peanut butter.
Lunch was salad and some cannelloni beans followed by a grapefruit.  I ate some fruit during the day as well.
Dinner was the same as the night before... not really the Eat to Live plan but it was some rice (OK – we have white basmati which I’m trying to use up... so not ideal), veg and veggie sausages.
Before dinner I had to go with my eldest daughter to sell Girl Guide cookies door to door with her Sparks troop.  It was HORRIBLE outside.  The rain was so heavy and the girls got really wet.  Poor Kerensa was really cold and damp by the end of it.  Luckily we were only out for about 40 minutes but it was horrible. 
When we got home, I cheated... I ate some cookies (not the girl guide cookies but some others we had), and some peanut butter zig zag soy ice cream... OK.. my excuse is TOM. I’m like a maniac.  It was like a feeding frenzy at the zoo... I was nearly making “nom nom” sounds as I ate the Chocolate batons from Trader Joes... Luckily there weren’t too many left in the box before I started!  It could have been far far worse! 

So... today  I realise – we are over ONE QUARTER through 2012! Can you believe it!?!  This was meant to be my year to get to goal and the finish line is getting closer and I am not much closer to my goal.  It’s time to get serious – get my weight loss spreadsheets back out and set myself some goals.   I am still hopeful that I can get to goal in 2012.  I need to refocus and get stuck in.  I have around 50lbs to go... I CAN DO THIS!
I’m going to start by:
Increasing exercise now my popped rib is feeling better – but monitor it until I feel 100%.
Cut out all animal products – no cheating!  I don’t need that rubbish in my body or the bodies of my family.
Increase knitting! I started knitting last night after the feeding frenzy and it really helped!
Focus on finding some more races... different distances would also be good I think.
Get out and have fun!
OK. I’m at work and I should be working not blogging....
But a question for you - what are you going to focus on for the next quarter of 2012?

    Hi Abi.

    I've read a bit of Eat to Live on my ereader but now I have to wait again to get a copy. I'm not ready to go full out on such a diet but I've increased my veggies significantly and to me right now that's what I need... in a MAJOR way! (i've always and really still do hate vegetables)

    I am shifting my focus to more strength training. It fell by the wayside with all of my running training, and I now realize that actually having some strength will make me a better runner!

    Sounds like you have a great plan in sight, one step at a time, climb one hill at a time,and keep moving. I know you can do it, its a great idea to look at what your goals are, re-center yourself and go for it. Im here for you if you need a ear for listening, a shoulder for crying, or a word for advice. emoticon

    This next quarter is going to be focusing on fresh produce. Can always tell when I have not had enough. A person really can crave veggies and fruit.

    I also want to get out to do some walking. I hate the wind and with it being cold I don't go outside. Sun is shining but still cold. Poor excuse I know.

    So second quarter is working on not making excuses and follow through with another exercise if exercise of choice isn't working.
