Due to scheduling conflicts, I get to go to the gym with the trainer two days in a row! Woo Hoo! I totally hate him while he's training me (even though he cracks me up) but I really like him around 4:00 the next day when my muscles start to feel a little stiff. It's the feeling I look forward to. The feeling that I did something right, and he pushed me to get there. That's why I like him.
If I could get myself to go work out a third day, on my own, the world would be right. My problem is that I need someone to hold me accountable. I need someone barking at me or expecting me to show up. Is this an insecurity? I'm guessing so, because I have no problem getting myself to the gym when Mr. Trainer is expecting me to be there for our sessions. He's showing me where to go and telling me what to do. Am I afraid I'll do something wrong or look stupid? I know for a fact I wont sweat as much on my own. I'm no stranger to not sweating at a gym. I believe it's called, "going through the motions." How do I get past this?
Anyway, I get to go to the gym again today. Yesterday was upper body strength, today will be lower body strength. Not as much fun, but the stiffness tomorrow afternoon will be my reward.
Sounds like you're off to a great start! I've been going to Curves for about 3 months now and believe me, nobody is going to be looking at your "form". They are too busy concentrating on their own output. And you don't have to use the stuff you're not sure of. I mean really, a bike and a treadmill is pretty much no brains to do. You just need to make yourself get there. And going through the motions isn't all bad, At least you are getting your butt there and with Mr. Trainer 2X a week you will progress in confidence and you will start giving it your all. 3232 days ago
2 ST days with Mr. Hottie sounds good -- so maybe you just need a cardio day with these: (Did you buy new ones yet?) If you give yourself a choice of: or whatever else they have there for cardio, then at least it can be different every week. I think 3 days a week at the gym is a great start!
