I'm Back

Wow, what an crazy busy summer. Injuries, summer school, family visits, family drama, work, work, more work... I'm so tired.

So anyway, I've gained back the 8 pounds I lost earlier this year. Needless to say, I'm in damage control mode now. I've hired a personal trainer to help me regain my focus. He's doing a great job motivating me as well as draining my bank account. Mr. Hotness (as I call him privately in my head), is great at what he does, but somewhere along the way, I'm failing with the weightloss. I've started logging my food again (should have never stopped) and I see where changes need to be made, but it's not easy (is it ever?). All my calories are coming from convenience foods, mixes and pre-packaged items. With my busy lifestyle I find it difficult to manage any other way. Especially now that I'm working in gym sessions at the time I used to prepare meals. *sigh*

I I'm terribly frustrated. I need to figure this stuff out...

    Hang in there. Being busy and trying to stay in shape is not easy. I find prepping food on the day I grocery shop is a big help. Fish is another fast meal you can just wrap fillets in tin foil with oilve oil and lemon then throw them on the grill or pop it in the oven if weather interferes with grilling. You are making the adjustments. Plus as a bonus you get to spend time with Mr. Hotness.

    Slow cookers and salad mixes. I find when I have trouble making myself eat a salad at dinner combats the damage of the other stuff and it's easy enough to throw in on a plate. I prep everything except tomato or apple ahead of time so i can just toss and eat.

    It helps when time is short.

    Don't give up. Make some of those convenience foods, baby carrots, low calorie, low sodium soups, frozen meals. Maybe try to set aside a few hours to cook several meals. I make a large portion on quinoa on Sunday and then add to it during the first part of the week. Grilled chicken and mushrooms (these cook really fast), a cup of mixed frozen veggies. emoticon Stay strong, 1 step, 1 choice, 1 day, 1 lb at a time. No matter how long it takes.

    emoticon Have you tried a slow cooker? It saves so much time and you can get a few meals from the cooker for leftovers.
    Or, make meals on the weekend and freeze them.
