A public thank you to everyone who commented on my 100 lbs lost blog!

Saturday, April 12, 2014

I just wanted to thank you all so much for the incredible love and support you have shown me in regards to hitting my 100 lbs lost journey. I was blown away by your comments. Some of them were so touching that they made me cry. I would love nothing more than to visit every one of your sparkpages and write you an individual thank you, but that would take me hours and hours that I simply do not have. I never expected to receive a popular blog award and I certainly never expected to have my blog featured in the spark newsletter. So I DEFINITELY did not expect almost 300 comments on my blog. I will tell you that I have read every single comment, and they meant so much to me.

I wish I did not have to resort to a mass thank you, but I just started a long term substitute teaching job at the number one school of my choice that I hope to get hired at. I get up at 5, leave at 6 am, get home at 4:30 or 5, tend to my son, (I am a single mother), workout for an hour and a half, and then I have lesson plans to do. I have little to no free time.

Last night I asked my mom if she would pick up my son from the bus stop so I could stay after school and try to get some things done. I got to school at 6:30 am and left school at 7 pm. So that is a 12.5 hour work day and that does not include the commute which takes me over an hour.

It is a lot of work, but teaching is my calling and my passion (other than motherhood and exercise), so I am not telling you this because I want pity or anything like that. It is just important for you to know I am not some ungrateful, lazy person, who can't be bothered to thank you when you took the time to read and comment on my blog or send me a goodie, or an email.

So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. It means everything to have gotten to share my journey with all of you, especially when it took 4 years to hit this milestone. Now I will ask you all one more favor. For those of you who pray, I am asking that you say a prayer for me that I get offered a teaching position.

If you read my blog then you know about my a$$hat of a husband and how he almost broke me. Well I cannot divorce him until I get a job with insurance, because my son and I cannot afford to be without health insurance and as long as I am married my husband has to pay for our health insurance. I also am miserable being 41 years old and having to live with my parents. While I am grateful to them for taking me in, it is very hard.

If I get a teaching position then I will be able to make enough money that I can move my son and myself into an apartment and I will have the health insurance I need to be able to divorce Greg and finally start a new chapter in my life. One that does not involve him in it.

I have an interview on Monday. not at the elementary school I am currently long term subbing at but a different one. I am very nervous. I do not think that I interview well, so I am praying the administrator does not ask me a bunch of questions I do not know how to answer, and I hope I do not walk in to a room with a bunch of people asking a bunch of questions, but I am preparing myself for several people to be in the room because that is how it usually goes in the field of education. It is usually a minimum of 3 people. The principal and the 2 vice principals.

Anyway, thank you again so much. School is out in 7 weeks and then I will finally have some down time, and will take that opportunity to try to get to know you all better.

Much love and thanks.
