Yesterday was my one year anniversary on SparkPeople. In that year, many things have happened.
I lost 55 pounds (it was 57, but then there was Christmas). And I lost 10 inches off my hips/lower belly and almost 8 inches off my waist. I think I lost 7 or 8 inches off my bust, but I wasn't tracking that, so I'm not sure.
Here is my 2014 before-and-after sweater photoset:
I went from wearing plus sized clothing to regular sized clothing.
I started running; I can now run 5k without stopping or feeling like I'm going to die.
I put together and stuck with a strength training routine that has made a real difference in the way my body looks and feels.
I cut my grocery bills down about 30%, from $100/week to $70/week. I rarely have to throw anything out at the end of the month now.
I branched out in my yoga practice to try poses I never thought possible, like inversions:
There were some challenges, too. I struggled with binge eating in October and again in December. It depresses me that I will likely never be rid of it, that it will always be a problem. But I do feel better able to cope with it these days.
My addiction to diet pop was also a source of frustration. I put together a few nice long streaks of going without but couldn't quite kick it altogether.
I will get to a healthy weight. This is about 22 pounds away, right now. But when I get there, I may decide to go lower. We'll see.
I will sign up for a 5k run/race, then start training for a 10k, and ultimately for a half-marathon. My work does a charity run in October, so I want to do the half then.
I will cut my food costs even more, down to $50/week, I hope.
As transformative as 2014 was for me, I think 2015 will be even more so!
