Biggest Loser: Biggest cruelty

Sunday, January 18, 2015

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: The Biggest Loser is a terrible, dangerous show that no one who cares about health should watch.

Don't believe me? Read this from someone who participated years ago and whose health is still damaged:

It would be nice to think that this show is genuinely inspirational. But it's really just slow-motion, voluntary gladiator games. It's a terrible thing.

I have to disagree. Kai Hibbard is the poster girl for slamming The Biggest Loser. I knew immediately who you were referencing.

Of course there are exceptions depending on your age and general health, but I believe being fat, obese, overweight, a couple of hundred pounds to lose is much more dangerous.

I used to love The Biggest Loser, but it's pretty boring and I hate all the gratuitous crying and the plays for sympathy going on lately. emoticon

Yikes! I must be one of the few people that hasn't watched it. I certainly don't want to now.

WOW, WOW, WOW. I haven't watched this show in a long time. I wondered why Jillian left the show. Makes sense now if they really do treat the contestants this poorly. I'm going to be more grateful for my slow, steady weight loss.

While I admit to be a viewer of the Biggest Loser, I must say that I frequently am concerned about the strain the exercises have on the contestants.

I read the article you linked to, very insightful, and not a surprise. thanks for posting
