Plan to Plan!

My WEC blog post… but really it was about time I blogged about what I’m going to do about my health! I’ve been just scraping by with my weight loss, often regaining and losing in a cycle that seems to never end. But ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I need to get real and get with the program!

I feel that for me, the low carb approach is one of the better options for me as following it previously for a short amount of time, I saw good losses on the scales and also good results from blood work tests for my cholesterol and my blood sugar.

I also believe that the Fasting approach will work for me too. I was surprised how easily I am able to fast – The 5-2 approach means that I eat just 500 calories a day twice a week. However, when I tried this before, I wasn’t tracking what I ate on the 5 other days. I think I need to do that too.

I recently bought some new Paleo cook books so I think I will use a combination of Paleo and Intermittent Fasting to try to achieve lasting results. The recipes in the cook books look fantastic and now that I am done with my studying for a while, I have time to do more recipe planning and focus on 7 days a week rather than just the two fast days.

My plan:

My plan is to PLAN!

Recipe planning. Research new recipes from my lovely cookbooks and write up a plan for the week. Shop according to the plan – make a list, but be flexible enough to make changes based on what’s good in store, particularly with produce.

Exercise Planning. I have a half marathon at the end of June. I also want to get into exercise classes and fix my “broken core”. I need to stretch more often. I bought kettle bells a while ago and they haven’t been used. Time to get Jillian Michaels out and workout with her!

Happiness Planning! I am reading a great book called “Goddesses Never Age” so I need to keep reading that and make changes to my life to make me happy and enjoy life. Get out more and enjoy my family time.

Financial Planning. I need to come up with a budget and stick to it so we can pay down some of our debts and finance our home renovations. Prioritize our spending!

Weekly Planning: I need to sit down and come up with a weekly plan of when I will do my regular planning – when I will menu plan, shop and when I will do my exercise. I think I will also stick appointments for myself in my calendar for the important planning tasks and exercise.

No excuses! Only Results!
