I'm NOT on a diet!

No, this isn't a diet. I eat in a very low carb/ketogenic way and its not a diet. This is the lifestyle that I have chosen for better health. I enjoy eating this way and I don't feel deprived (sometimes depraved, but not deprived). I have booted all things sweet to kick cravings and guess what? It works. I haven't had sugar cravings since beginning this nearly a year ago. I've actually done lc for nearly 6 years, but just got back to the very low carb lifestyle and like it even better. I don't eat grains. I eat very little fruit, but do enjoy berries with cream occasionally. I would have called this extreme years ago, but after living it for a few years, it no longer seems so. It seems a reasonable exchange for good blood sugar numbers and even weight loss. I used to be one of those that thought I couldn't give up.........you fill in the blanks. But I eat for fuel now. I can see so much wrong with the standard American diet. I try not to evangelize my woe (way of eating) because most people aren't open to this big of a change. Even the medical community will tell you to eat too many carbs. Have they ever tested their blood sugar after so much junk? I don't think most docs realize the disservice they are doing to their clients. I don't think the insurance companys CARE about the health of the populace (they want $$$$$) I do believe that I have found a workable solution, for me at least, in this approach to food.
