My office

Friday, February 24, 2017

I work in a mental health center and I am office based. I have my own office. There was talk about a year ago about moving to the other side of the building to be part of the Emergency Services department. Well yesterday I was informed that the move would be happening. I will be moving across the building in to a cubicle. My office is being taken away and I get a stinking' cubicle. I will now be the only office based person in a cubicle. I am not happy with this. I had a long conversation with my mom about this and I have decided to look for another job. This is a big hit and there is more than just the removal of my office. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes that's ridiculous! So sorry. I would be looking too. In the meantime try to make the best of it. Management makes strange decisions sometimes.

Go with the flow and try the may not be as bad as you envision; however, it never hurts to check out the potential job market while doing so. Job happiness affects every aspect of your life!!

I totally agree with you. Mental health is a very private and touchy subject and now you won't even have any privacy by them jamming you in a cubicle. Good luck, I agree 100%

It sounds like you're not feeling valued there -- and I wouldn't be feeling that way either! You have to do what is best for you so that you can be your best self! A new job sounds like a good move for you. Sending positive energy your way.
