Personal Challenge and Mini Streak - Week 1

Well, the first week of my personal challenge and mini streak is complete. The challenge I am doing consists of different exercises (lunges, squats, plank, crunches, jumping jacks, push-ups, etc.) for each day, Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday being rest days. The number to do is very low, but I plan on increasing the number as I get accustomed to the exercises. Some exercises I have no problem with, but I struggle with a couple, like the plank. I only have to hold the plank for 10 seconds, but that is long enough to start. As time goes and 10 seconds is no longer challenging, I will increase it to 15 seconds. Saturday and Sunday will only be a rest from the challenge, I will continue to exercise by either walking, swimming, Tae Kwon Do, punching drills or weight training. All seven days of the week consist of some sort of exercise.

My am doing quite well with my nutrition. Staying within range on most items that I track. Working on getting my Calcium into range. I don't think I will ever get Potassium or Magnesium in range. But when I have blood work done, those numbers are fine, so I must be getting enough. Oh, and I just Leveled Up today too (Level 15) emoticon

My starting weight was 238 and at home and at my doctor's appointment on Wednesday I was 233, so 5 lbs. gone. At 232 lbs. I get a reward, just something small and dependent on time of year (bunch of flowers, book, pool floatie, nail polish, etc.). I have two midway points where my reward will be a little bigger (new workout clothes, massage, new floor mats for my Jeep). And of course, for reaching goal weight, new wardrobe. emoticon

I am happy to say that for the most part I am still motivated. Once in a while I lose some motivation, but not all motivation. I am also doing the Sparkpeople "Find 10" Challenge and this helps me a lot when my motivation is a bit low. I can always walk for 10 minutes, but most days it is for more than 10 minutes of exercise and over 40 minutes being "active". I have an exercise streak of 26 Days going so emoticon for me emoticon Little pep talk for me lol.
