PET PEEVE... Retail failure!

RETAIL MANAGERS, NOTE: Here I am...reflecting on a pet peeve my perception of ill trained cashiers and our willingness to settle for being put down... You approach a counter, place your order... the cashier says " is that all?" What is that supposed to mean? Didn't I order enough? Child, aren't you happy I boosted your sales for the day?...Why not say"Will there be anything else?" or "Would you like 'fries' with that?"....Why don't managers train to encourage the 'add ons' that will enhance the customer's purchase and shopping experience ? if I purchase a ring, I want to be asked if I need jewelry cleaner or polishing cloth... If I order a pizza, " would you like extra sauce with that? I am willing to pay the little extra, but I want the store to earn my respect and repeat business...Am I off base on this perception? Christmas is just two months away!!!
On the WW front, I am a loser again this week... down 5.2 in 5 weeks
