A Setback or a Call to Action?

This week I had an unexpected meeting with my counselor in the hallway outside of Mark's Pulmonary Physical Therapy Suite (2nd Floor Men's Room was being cleaned). Anyway I started off with, "Hi Gerry, I've gained 2 lbs, and then went on to say these are my "new" clothes two sizes down from what I was wearing before surgery (Leg shirt, 40" waist shorts)." "And how are you feeling?" was his reply. "I'm feeling great and my bold pressure is holding in the normal range without any meds!" Now don't you think we should just erase your first comment and pick up with your new clothes, size and feelings?"
What a powerful reinforcement of not being controlled by numbers on the scale! I've certainly preached that plenty, now I need to hear it again myself. But isn't that typical?
I am also trying to see what foods I can eat without causing discomfort to my new stomach, while keeping my protein level at 80g and 50% of my diet along with keeping each meal to 1/2 Cup volume. And in between my "feedings" drinking a minimum of 64 oz of water.
Time to be more mindful and less judgmental! Now on to taking ACTION!
