8 months Keto!

Friday, September 21, 2018

Last Friday, September 14th, was 8 months Keto. I don't want to say it has been easy, but its not as hard as I thought it would be. Believe me, I have had my struggles and temptations. I just stop myself and think about how far I have come and getting to my final goal weight. I am 73 pounds down so far, my goal is a total of 110 loss. Honestly, I can't believe I have come this far. I always felt that 110 pound loss would be impossible to reach, now I feel its definitely possible. I wouldn't call myself strict or lazy keto, I'm somewhere in between. I don't track which would make me lazy, but I don't give in with non keto items or have cheat days, which would make me strict. I only eat when I'm hungry and eat high healthy fats with every meal. That would consist of butter (not margarine), coconut oil, avocados and oil, olive oil, heavy cream and fatty cuts of meat. It keeps me fuller longer and takes away my cravings. When I do get a sweet craving, there are sugar free options I have found at my local Meijer store, like Lilly's Chocolate bars sweetened with stevia. When I bake at home, I use almond and coconut flours, flax seed and other non grain items. I use erythritol is a sugar alcohol that I use to sweeten my drinks and food. I also buy an item called swerve that is a mix of stevia and erythritol. My kids can not tell that they are eating gluten and sugar free. That is just a small window into my keto lifestyle which is my forever lifestyle. I cannot imagine going back to my SAD diet. Its funny how our Standard American Diet is just that...SAD. We are fat, unhealthy and dying due to what our government is telling us is healthy and what is not. I will determine my health with what my body tells me. Keto is not a weight loss program, its a CURE! No matter what you are dealing with, I believe it will help anyone that is determined to change their life and can give into the norm and think outside the box with their food. Food is meant to be healing and life sustaining. Its not meant to make us sick and miserable. But if we continue to feed our bodies chemically enhanced food with artificial everything, then expect sick and miserable.
