The Changes Have Only Begun

Saturday, September 21, 2019

I spent years feeling like I could not control anything. Feeling like I was crushed and falling apart. Feeling like I was broken and could not pick up the pieces.

It is now September 2019. My best friend is now my husband, he is wonderful and supports me in every way! I have a new job since I was here last, I have been at Blue Cross Blue Shield for about 2.5 years now. Back in school finishing my bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration. It feels like a whole new vision of life.

I changed doctors after trying and trying to lose weight and not losing although I followed things perfectly. Found out I had a ton of things wrong with me; my hormones, thyroid, and depression medication was just the beginning. I've spent the last year getting this all fixed. On September 4 I stepped on the scale at the doctor's office and found I had gained back 82 lbs of the 180 I had originally lost. I was getting close to 400 again!!!

I stepped back and decided THIS STOPS NOW!! That exact same day I started changing things. in the last almost three weeks we have stopped eating out, no more fast food! I put the soda down, cold turkey. I took it slow and spent the first week and a half working in the good foods again. This last week I added walking at work and have set a goal at 5000 steps, to begin with. I have dropped 15 lbs so far and averaging about 2 lbs a week, which is fine with me. As long as the scale keeps moving in the right direction, it's not important to me how fast anymore.

I am not done yet, I still want this, I still believe I can and will do this!

Eating Plan:
Right now I'm eating a balanced plan, not sure if I will stay with this, I tend to want to carb cycle, but I don't know yet.

Beginning Goals:
~Out of the house at least 5 days per week.
~At least 5000 steps per day.
~ Follow my eating plan to get back on track.

All the support I can get, I appreciate greatly!! I will return the support as well!

Sounds like you are on the right track. Its doesn't matter how fast we get where we want to be ... it's just important to keep taking a step forward. You know a lot of people don't think 4 or 5 lbs is much lost but if you hold up a bag of sugar and compare that to fat loss ... it's actually quite a bit. I'm taking mine one day at a time and as long as I keep moving ahead, I don't worry about the time it takes me to get to where I want to be. emoticon ... emoticon ... emoticon
