Why do I fight it

Happy Sunday dear friends.

I have just finished 45 minutes of Root Yoga. Since joining my gym in 2017 I have taken a yoga class at least once a week, until now. Even though Lifetime has posted dozens of workouts reflecting the classes that are offered, and there are several different Root Yoga sessions, I have been negligent about taking a class. Why? Because it's 45 minutes and I haven't wanted to put in the energy. Which doesn't even make sense to me because going to the gym, taking the one hour class and coming home again takes at least 1 1/2 hours - double the time.

But oh how good I feel right now, like everything is fluid. I decided to just do it because I've been feeling rather anxious this week, and I'm not an anxious person. I taught 5 children how to drive and watched them go off for the first time alone with no worry, no anxiety. Today has been especially hard - maybe because we had quite a thunderstorm, maybe because I know my youngest daughter is having a bad day, maybe because I've just been at home too long.

So I put my workout clothes on, turned on YouTube and first did a short cardio to warm up. Then the yoga. The instructor was a very calm young man with a girl who did the moves while he talked us through. That 45 minutes went by so quickly and no more anxiety!

So lesson learned. When you're in a pandemic and the whole world is upside down and the people who are suppose to be your leaders can't seem do anything - well, it's time to do something that you love, something that bring you joy!

I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. The sun is shining here now but they say we'll get more rain overnight along with some cooler weather. We were able to get dirt all the way around the tree - and it took a lot of dirt - but now we have to smooth it out and make sure it's deep enough. I'm hopeful that next week will be cooler so we can do that.

And now that I feel all warm and refreshed, it's time to make some dinner.
