Our Yearly Walk for Suicide Prevention in memory of my son Kenny

Saturday, September 26, 2020

Every year since 2014, our family has come together as Kenny's Walking Warriors and participated in our Richmond, Virginia Out of the Darkness Walk, for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.

We have consistently been one of the top fundraising teams, with the love and support of friends and family that want to make a difference.

There are some dear spark folks that have contributed to our cause and this mama's heart thanks you. emoticon

As you can imagine, this year will be a bit different, what with COVID-19.

We will NOT be gathering together and doing all the things I have shared in the past, but our mission remains the same.
Our date is October 3.

We will walk where we are, for all who have died by suicide, struggle, or have lost a loved one to suicide.

My daughter Ashley and I will be walking in one of Kenny's favorite parks. Three lakes.
Such good memories of fishing there and hiking the trails, playing sports on the fields.
I am sure Kenny will be walking right beside us. emoticon

My son Nick and his wife will be walking in their neck of the woods and my sister and her daughter will be walking in northern VA, or perhaps Maryland.

Kenny's Dad, my BIL and his dog, Peaches, will be walking a trail of their choosing and Mama, no longer with us will be everywhere! emoticon

Spark buddies and their furry friends also walk on trails for my Kenny, where they live.

Here are a few photos from past walks. emoticon

We can make a difference, end the stigma, become educated, help others, reduce the suicide rate and save lives.
Kenny's light continues to shine.

Here is the link to my fundraising page, should you wish to learn more about my Kenny, the Out of the Darkness Walks and AFSP.

Here I am with my three children. Ashley, Nick and Kenny. Love goes on forever, they are closer than we think and we will see our loved ones again.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
