A frozen waterfall and the amazing beauty!
Thursday, December 31, 2020
When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday this year, the answer was easy. I want to spend it with my family. Usually, we would go bowling or mini golfing. But this year, we are in the midst of a pandemic so we didn't have those options. I love to be outside and walking, but my family isn't as crazy about it but we decided to go for a drive to show my daughters the waterfalls that are right across the border in Wisconsin. I am so glad we did. We were there just a couple weeks ago but there was no snow and the falls weren't frozen yet. Please come with me in the warmth of your house to see the frozen beauty!
It is amazing to me how beautiful it can be in our beautiful state of Minnesota in the winter. I was never a fan of the cold and being outside, but this year has given me a different perspective on so many things and this is where I find a sense of calm, of fun, of joy, and the happiness of experiencing with others. It is certainly not for everyone, just to get to the falls there are about 300 steps you must go down that are a bit slippery and packed with snow and of course, once you go down, you must climb back up!
It will be in the mid 20's so I have one last hike planned today with the family. What a great way to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome in a new year that I hope to be better.
I hope this has inspired to get outside for just a little bit, or to think about what you want to do come spring when the grass is green once again.
Have a great last day of 2020. Spread joy wherever you go. Smile at strangers and know that you are beautiful!
Spark on! Happy New Year's eve!
