Want to overcome anxiety at half the price?

I do not want to sound like I'm selling something, but I DO want to let people know that the book I mentioned in a previous blog post--The Happiness Trap--has an 8-week online program that is currently half the usual price. I had considered purchasing it at the full price of $295, but was really hesitating on spending that amount of money. Then I got an email 2 days ago that the program was half price until Feb. 26--only $145.

Since Feb. 23 is my birthday, my husband and I both felt it seemed a little bit meant to be as a gift for myself and a way of making sure I stick with the program, as I'm sure the videos will keep me more engaged than the book. I hesitated about blogging about this, but if the program ends up getting me over my anxiety, I'll regret that I didn't share it with others when it was half price.

The way I learned about The Happiness Trap was by listening to a podcast by the Catholic Medical Association. They have a weekly series called "Doctor, Doctor" that you can find here:
The particular episode I listened to was on anxiety (either DD #82 or #91 if you want to look for it), and the doctor who was hosting the program said that this book had really helped him overcome his anxiety. I think he mentioned that he didn't particularly agree with everything the author said--probably the way the author makes it seem as if there is no God at all and that we just evolved into what we are today--but that the principles and methods were very helpful to him.

So I purchased the book plus another one that was recommended (Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety), but left them sitting for almost a year before picking them up again. I am now re-committing to reading both and doing the exercises. I've left it too long and don't want to wait any longer to be the person God made me to be!

If anyone out there decides to sign up for this as well, please let me know and we can encourage each other along the way!

    I'm just another person trudging the road of happy destiny, I do not use the word trudge in a bad way , just that life can be difficult at times! I have found that when I get distraught, anxious, upset, what ever you would like to call it, I ask myself what is the worst thing that could happen, and it never really seems all that bad, then I make a gratitude list. I am not a doctor, a specialist of any sort, just thought I'd share my experience ,strength and hope with you. If you believe the program can help you, I say give it your best shot! Keep on the sunny side!

    I hope they recommend breathwork and meditation which are good tools for overcoming anxiety. Kundalini yoga has helped me a lot. I still "spin out" sometimes. I saw a video on YouTube that winding your arms around each other like the old game of "Wind the Bobbin" can be very helpful. Also passing an object back and forth from hand to hand. i hope to remember these tricks if I get caught in an anxious spiral again.

    Sometimes an affirmation like "all is Well" or "all in Divine Right Order" from Louise Hay helps me.
    Sometimes I keep repeating "I have all the time I need" from Deepak Chopra.
