My GREEN, YELLOW & RED food list is coming together and followed it perfect today. Less active day and went with my got to foods (green) & a few precautionary(yellow) foods.
Since I am trying to de-clutter the freezers and food in general. Items in surplus and want to use up. I have temporary guidelines, specifically 2 cups homemade tomato juice, 400 grams of frozen winter squash and 3 servings of frozen vegetables every day. I should run out of frozen veg by sometime in May. However the tomato juice and winter squash will likely carry over through the entire year. Following these simple guidelines impacted my day very positive.
The other part of de-cluttering is using up the variety of grass fed beef, venison, bear, lamb and pork. No chicken since I do not have an organic source. Just picked up a half of organic grass fed pork from a hay customer and had it processed all fresh, things like ham roast and side pork and instead of bacon and smoked hams all make a difference. Also all the different types of seafood and frozen fish to use up. Plan is lots of 12 hr slow cooked roast and low temp grilling on my pellet grill. Which is exactly what I did today, roasted Bear and grilled grass fed beef.
Making this list, what is very evident is all the GREEN go to foods I have been neglecting. Bone broth tops that list, not making it for almost a year until today. Its also part of the de cluttering process having one freezer partially full of grass fed beef bones.
Followed my forming list very well today easily avoiding all the inferior RED non negotiable foods lacking in nutrition. As a bonus got to cross out one number on my weight loss chart today. Also tracking my food accurately today which is the plan for next 7-10 days without worrying about any daily intake limits. Getting far better nutrition I expect my cravings will become non existent and when the numbers cross off frequently I am sure the momentum will continue on the upward. Staying focused on the nutrition is the focus.
