Maintaining Recent 7 lb Loss, Ordered Recovery Equipment, Etc.

Still awaiting confirmation of my May 11 surgery date for hip replacement. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get more weight off my bones and am pleased to be maintaining the loss I've had over the past month. I'm shooting for about 4 more lbs before the 11th.

Have been watching a ton of youtube videos on all aspects of pre and post surgery. Trying to get the fear of dislocation out of my mind. It's amazing how automatic our leg/foot movements are, and I know I will have to practice extreme awareness of how to place my foot/knee always forward. No pivots. No jerky motions. I've been pretty overwhelmed with all of the info I've researched, but after that passes, I feel stronger and more empowered with the knowledge that is preparing me.

Today I ordered some of the stuff I'll need and will start to practice with the tools that help you reach, pull pants up, etc. What I really need to shape up are my breathing quality and posture. Both will come in very handy in making progress toward healing.

I've deliberately refrained from talking about an extreme source of stress in my life right now. Working hard to deal with it as it involves someone else. The more I try to help, the harder I get pushed away.
