I got out in a couple of fields to mow paths and a surface for the picnic table...thankfully before this next set of storms which will be coming in for 7 days. I wanted to mow a swath along the full fenceline but the ground was still too wet to permit. I have talents...I can get a four wheel tractor stuck in mud, a dubious accomplishment. The rain is quite heavy at present and the 16 Eleagnus shrubs are being well watered.
Our Master Gardener Tour yesterday could not have asked for better weather. The sun was glistening and there was a slight breeze under blue skies. With 5 show places there were 3 hosts and the delightful home owner to tour a good turnout. I enjoyed getting to know the gardeners better and walked away with more knowledge in regards to vegetable gardens.
A lovely tree shaded St. Augustine lawn but in the middle of nowhere, I had packed half an apple and two protein bars. The first bar was good towards lunch as I had drunk a protein drink early. The second bar was a bit dicey to handle as the chocolate coating had melted...I felt like a messy kid. The jug of water I had brought came in handy for more than drinking.
After it was all over I got home pretty tired out. I over ate trying to compensate from the stress at doing the event...which was enjoyable but enough to cause a fever blister and general fatigue as I played catch up at home. Today I am back on track.
