6/11/21 - Bedtime

Friday, June 11, 2021

When I drove to the dentist's office to get my teeth cleaned, I realized I hadn't had the car out of the garage since last Sunday. There's a reason my 11-year-old car has only 29,320 miles on it; I no longer own a horse. The training barns were about 100 miles from home, and then there were the horse shows. I put a ton of miles on my Taurus. I miss the horses, showing, and that Taurus but not the expenses.

Along with the dentist, I shopped at Jewel. I remembered toilet paper but not the oatmeal. Sigh. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day.

I was flipping channels and landed on an Esther Williams movie. I think it was Neptune's Daughter. There was some sort of story stuck in between amazing production numbers featuring Esther swimming, diving, and preforming under water. Could she really hold her breath that long? Can you image a movie like that being filmed today? There are no car chases or F bombs. Of course, I can't picture a movie starring Michael Phelps either.

Sweet dreams everyone!!!

I’ve hardly put any miles on my care over the last year! Where was I going to go? I’m retired. Starting to put more miles on it now as I can go see people again. emoticon emoticon

I know, the other night I clicked on a movie I thought sounded good, and after about 10 minutes I just Fast Forward it as the F Bomb and worse was every other word. I am no prim-a-donna,, but that was ridiculous. They could get the point across with out all the extra words.

I remember my dad watching the Esther Williams movies. He was an avid swimmer and enjoyed all the production numbers. What sticks in my memory the most vivid was the bathing caps. They are no longer required at the public pools. Times change.
