Nice to see you, Holly! If you didn't get a welcome from Living Binge Free on your profile page, please let me know.

I wish I could say there was just one key thing that helped me manage my binge urges effectively, but I'd be lying. Various things all came together for me and the tide turned nearly 10.5 years ago, but I had thought the tide had turned multiple times before that. I guess the most important thing was that I saw that I was suffering more from bingeing than I ever would from holding out against urges to binge, painful though that was. The other thing that seems really important was to develop a relatively standard eating schedule (for me that meant little snacking= most food at meals) of plates of food that gradually added more raw and cooked veggies to replace more refined, dense foods because those are the meals I find most satisfying before, during, and after I eat them now. It has been an evolution! I never gave up the idea that I could be sane with food-MOST of the time.

I am 37, married, and live in Georgia. I sometimes eat emotionally.
Would love to get helpful tips to keep from doing this (while helping others).
I do believe that we can help each other. Holly emoticon
