Hey, Kirsten here. I've had my FitBit One for just over 2 years now and feel naked when I don't have it on me - does anyone else feel that way? lol

I'm SO glad this syncs with SparkPeople. I've been a SP member since just about when SP began, under different names. I'm trying a fresh start and figured a new username and empty stats would help motivate me.

Feel free to add me on FitBit... I don't interact there too much (no time for all the social media stuff most days) but if you invite me to a challenge I'll usually participate - any motivation helps!

Kirsten

Hi! I used Sparkpeople and BodyBugg to lose 40 pounds in six months a few years ago, but the device puts metal against my skin and I have the common allergy that creates a terrible rash in that circumstance. I'm happy to have recently found a solution with Fitbit Zip, and though it doesn't measure everything the way the other device did, it's very motivational. I just love its little smiling face!

I won't be on much; self-employed 48 hours a day, lol. But thanks for the welcome. I have a question, so I'll now go searching for the answer.

Hello,

My name is Dawn. I just recently started using Sparkpeople again. I've had the Fitbit One for a couple years now. I love it. Even when I am going through a bad stretch I can see how I am doing.

I can get a little obsessed with it at times (understatement).

Hello all...I just joined this group cause I ordered a Fitbit One and waiting on its arrival. Have/had the Spark Activity Tracker since Christmas 2013 and new batteries are not working so it is slowly dying. I really enjoy having a tracker so I was on the hunt for a new one...was going to get another Spark but noticed that Fitbit links to SparkPeople so gonna give it a try. Looking forward to the more options in its tracking but had to go for the clip one like the Spark cause I am use to it plus I already live in a watch and can't replace it. :o) I hope, once I get it all figured out upon its arrival, that I will find some Fitbit friends who are similar to me. I work in an office so I honestly don't get in as many steps as I would like...aim is 6000 a day...but I do like to jog at least 3 days a week and I am starting to do kettlebells. I suckered a really awesome guy to marry me 15 years ago (hehe) and we have 2 kids who lovingly drive us crazy every day to keep us on our toes...plus a not so smart dog who suffers from separation anxiety...what more could you ask for...HAPPY as can be, having the time of my life in Cali. emoticon

Greetings everyone! I'm Nikki from Ohio! As I just posted on the wall, I got my Charge HR this week, having been an UP user ever since my Force caused me to break out and I had to return it. I've gone through three UP bands, each one of them breaking in one way or another (the last one snapped and felt like a broken Barbie limb) so I decided to come back to FitBit. I also own the Aria scale, which I love because it does all of my weight tracking and I don't have to keep track. Keeping my fingers crossed that the Charge will last and will not fall victim to my track record for fitness trackers :)

Hi Fellow fitbit users,

Im Rayne (Rain) I live in California, I am 53 and have had my fitbit for about a year now. Yesterday is only the 2nd time I have ever hit the 10000 mark. I love my fitbit and initially got it to track my sleep since I am a bad sleeper and was tested @ a sleep lab only to find out that I get an average of 13% REM sleep, I am ok with that since I have been like this since high school.

Im glad to be here !!

HI! My name is Sarah. I just got a Fitbit Charge HR yesterday!! Very excited to track so many things - not sure if the HR monitor is actually accurate during workouts (compared to my Polar F7 I usually wear for workouts) but time will tell. :-)

I've been married to a handsome and phenominally supportive man (who surprised me with the Fitbit!) for 10 years and we have a hilarious, inquisitive and super fun 6 year old son and a huge (110 pounds), playful German Shepherd. We live in Texas.

I've been inconsistent with SP and focusing on health goals in general over the years (since I became a parent) but I'm in "full on" mode these days which is a great adventure. I LOVE to do Zumba, TRX, strength training and elliptical (okay - i don't really "LOVE" elliptical, but I tend to do it often since its the only time I let myself watch my guilty pleasure cheesy SciFi, haha).

I'm looking forward to learning more about Fitbit, being supported and supporting others on the path to healthy!

Hi my name is Gina. I am 40, married with 3 kids - but just the youngest (17) lives at home. I got my Fitbit in Sept and really got started (again) on my weightloss journey. About 5 years ago I lost 25lbs but since then life has happened. Stress, work, school etc caused me to gain back the weight and then some. I started in December at 177lbs. Today I am down 20lbs but my weight loss has tapered off. I was using My Fitness Pal but decided to switch because of rude comments.

I am a fraud analyst for a credit card company so I have a desk job. In addition my commute is 2 hours round trip for work. I do go to the gym 5-6 days a week which includes weights and 30 mins cardio. When I get home I spend the rest of the night sitting, doing homework.

Feel free to add me as friends on Fitbit if you want, my user name is the same there are it is here.

Gina

Hi I've been using my fitbit for a while now but think I need some extra motivation.

My fitbit user number is 296DYK. I am 58 years old (will be 59 next month) My problem is I start exercising do it for a few days/weeks but then get distracted with other things and find I don't have time. I know I know if I really wanted to exercise I would find time, but I find if I don't exercise first thing before work, it doesn't get done. emoticon

Just remembered it's 1st March today, so I will be 59 in 30 days - emoticon

I just bought a Charge HR today, and am hoping that this is the added spark I need to get myself more motivated to exercise. I currently have a LOT of weight to lose and would love to get some fitbit buddies that would be willing to do some challenges with me (although I haven't yet figured out how to do them... but I will!) If anyone is willing to help, I would really appreciate it.

Hello everyone.
I did not even know there was a sparkgroup for Fitbit.
Now that I have my fitbit I am seeing how much I really do walk.
I am going to try to go 15000 per day. Is that too much?

Hi all, I'm Jeanne from Sacramento, CA! I just got my Fitbit Flex on Sunday. I sit behind a desk all day, so it is really hard to get those steps in. Now that I can see how I'm doing, it is more fun to increase those steps. I'm at 6300 so far today! Yahoo!!

I'm lucky enough to live in Florida, where the weather is currently perfect for walking during lunch. I've never had so many steps before!

I have a fitbit flex. It took a couple of days to get use to having it on my wrist - I kept looking at it to see what time it was (I haven't worn a watch in 20 years.) I love the way it syncs my food intake from SP. I'm on FitRPG if anyone is interested in some fun roleplaying. My name is Healthfan on FitRPG.

FitRPG syncs real nice to Fitbit.

Hi Lorraine, I monitor my sleep patterns as well and it is amazing how restless I am at night. My dog gets me up most nights at least once so I know I am not getting a full nights rest, but I had no idea how restless I am. Not sure what I can do about that, but perhaps once I can start getting out and walking more maybe my sleep will be more restful.

Hi, I'm Lorraine. I got the fitbit flex a couple of days ago so I'm still getting used to it. I got it mainly to track my sleep patterns as my blood pressure seems to have gone through the roof for no apparent reason. I been very surprised to find I do over 8000 steps on an inactive day just by chasing my children. My goalsetting are to get back to using SparkPeople regularly and meeting my 10000 steps as well as getting adequate sleep

Hello I just started using the fitbit charge HR, not even a week into it yet. So I am still getting used to it. I have not worn it to bed to track my sleeping yet, getting used to wearing something on my wrist all day, once I am comfortable with that I will tackle sleep. It certainly is not the most attractive thing - but that's not why I bought it. It does motivate me to keep moving It does make me exercise a little harder so I can see my heart rate go up..that is all I am looking for at this time. I recently started putting a lot of weight back on - not sure why haven't changed to much in my lifestyle - so I have decided to really look at what I am doing -

Thanks Patty! I think in going to go for it! I drove to work and got my Flex! I guess I better get some extra steps in to make up for the time it was sitting in my locker!

Good Morning Everyone,

My name is Patty and I have been away from Spark People for awhile, but thought I would jump back on to see if I can get motivated again. I have had my Fit Bit for almost a year and while I love checking to see how far I have walked I think I would like to move up to the Charge. My boss just got it and the band is different and I liked the fact it will show you the exact number of steps you walked, your heart rate and so on without having to log into your computer. Rebekah, the band on the Charge is different (if you pay a little more) and it looks more like a watch band and this one may not irritate your skin so much.

Hello, I'm Rebekah. I have had my Fitbit Flex for a year. I quit using it a couple of months ago because the band was so irritating. I got it back out yesterday at my sister in law's urging and then left it at work!!! ( I had it in my scrub pocket and dumped everything from my pocket at the end of my shift into my locker!) I am seriously considering getting the Charge HR. Does anyone have any feedback on the Charge? Has anyone had any skin irritation? Please let me know! Oh yesterday at work I walked over 13,000 steps before leaving my Fitbit!
