that is great. you can do this. We are here for you. I have recommitted to myself and my program. the first step for me was to accept who I was then, who I am now and who I will be in thefuture. I plan on being the hot mom by the end of the year. joined a gym and got Dh doing it with me. he is making it his personal challenge to be able to beat me on the machines. He sees how out of shape he really is and he didn't like it last night when I could lift as much weight as him. he hated that. he is determined to beat me. I'm glad. it gets him motivated, we get to spend time together getting healthy and the kids get to come with us so they don't feel left out either. they actually ask when I get home, go workout? Where we are moving, there is sidewalks so we will be able to walk when we can't get to the gym. Dh actually fixed a very low calorie low fat meal last night and was amazed at how good it was in taste and how full he got. It was 300 calories for some chicken and veggies.

1 bite at a time = 1 choice at a time.
Choice is in our power; take the power and run.

Hi Shiela,

Welcome to the team...SP is a great way to lose weight and I put some back on for being sick all winter and now going to start a goal in keeping track of what I eat every day...The only way to succeed is going towards your goal...You are doing a great job, and want to say you could do it and us team members help each other along the route...

Hi Sheila! Welcome to the EE Team! I joined SparkPeople at the beginning of this year and have found the website to be a fountain of information, inspiration and encouragement. My favorite idea from the founder is to start with a goal small enough to accomplish easily and then motivate yourself to further accomplishments through your early success, which I see you're already doing. For me, this is the pressure-free and fun way to move toward health. I hope your experience here is as enjoyable.

I absolutely love the positives you are adding and good riddance to the negatives. Sparks is a wonderful place and the people of this team are awesome. You can do this, esp having all this help. I have dieted for 30yrs and was at my all time heaviest with sparks. I have lost 24kgs (52pounds) since Nov when I rejoined. Have fun and watch what you eat, TRACK what you eat and the weight will come off...that's a guarantee.

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

Hi my name is Sheila. I started spark people in February of this year. I was not sure at first if I was trying a new thing or if I was going to make a lifestyle change. I have tried everything, pills, diets, and even considering the stomach surgery. All of those have not worked for me. And that's the problem. I need to work for it. I need to make goals and stick to them. All my adult life I have done neither of these. Today I have accepted who I am now. And I am thinking about who I will be when I reach my goal. This morning I actually took the time to measure my sugar and milk I put in my coffee. Next week I may go to the nutrition store and purchase liquid stevia. I liked it at a friend's house. I thought it was expensive but well worth it since I like sweet things. For four days now I have worked on my recumbent bike. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and in a lot of pain.The added weight doesn't help. I signed up for the goal of 30 minutes everyday my new challenge. I love reading the posts in knowing I am not alone anymore. So we can all make it together. I am truly amazed with all the successes and failures shared, it gives me hope. Another negative I am taking away is isolation. Going to peddle now, 30 minutes.........
