Welcome to the team! It sounds like you have comt to the right place for what you need! One thought to start over with is

HALT....before you grab that sweet or even that coffee.....are you actually
H - hungry

or are you

A- angry
L- lonely
T- tired

and any one of those could include stressed from your work load....but if you are not actually hungry then HALT...stop yourself and think before you grab anything to eat or drink....if you need something ...grab a cold glass of water and wait before you take anything else

Its not worth all the effort it takes to work off those calories just for the sake of a sweet indulgence

That would be a beginning to understanding and controlling those emotional moments...there are lots of other ways but I found it a good place to start!

Good Morning All,

I am not new to sparkpeople, but I am new to this group. I didn't even know that this group existed until I saw it on the page of a sparkfriend. I really need this sparkteam. I have been doing pretty good(but could be doing a lot better). I have loss 19 pounds so far but have had a bad couple of weeks with emotional eating due to stress. I have been drinking tons of coffee (to keep up)and sweets. I currently have a lot on my plate: work, PTO, kids activities,starting my own business, etc. Due to my insane schedule this last week I have not been able to workout like I usually do. The big event that I am planning for work will be over tomorrow then I hope to get back on task but I am afraid that I have undone all of my hard work. Last week, I lost a pound, but I should be much more further along then that. After giving up sweets and coffee for 46 days for lent, I never missed it even when lent was over. As soon as I got stressed I ran right to it. Therefore this is the best sparkteam for me.
