Welcome to the team!! Set small goals and work toward them...I've never focused on the total amount of weight I wanted to lose, just the next 5 or 10 pounds...it's not so overwhelming that way!

Hi! Welcome to the EE Team! I joined SparkPeople at the beginning of this year and have found the website to be a fountain of information, inspiration and encouragement. My favorite idea of the Spark is to start with a goal small enough to accomplish easily and then motivate yourself to further accomplishments through your early success. For me, this is the pressure-free and fun way to move toward health. I hope your experience here is as enjoyable.

emoticon to the team. I tried Weight Watchers twice and just could not commit and really was frustrated with the points and the way they did the fitness. I just could not get motivated.

emoticon when I started it just seemed so much easier to track my nutrition and fitness. Also, the points helped me meet people, read articles on fitness, nutrition, motivation, and other areas that I needed to see and read. In addition the people here have been just wonderful, and they are great about talking to you and letting you know your not alone, something could not get out of Weight Watchers and was not in a position to attend meetings which might have helped, still the points were frustrating. emoticon Keep logging, posting and tracking nutrition and fitness, and you will find the people supportive, encouraging and motivating. Then start to track your food and remember if you are feeling emotional to perhaps come here and find someone to talk to before you grab that something to eat ! Hi! I am new to this site. I've been thru Weight Watchers 5 times--almost made it to life time member, but always slipped. I seem to be ruled by my emotions, and at midlife, I'm finally trying to get a grip. Any tips for a newbie? -Julie
