Hi Berry,

Well, I hope the new job works out for you.
I keep thinking about you and wondering how your berry business is doing. Between Covid and unseasonable heat, I'm sure you're not making the money you need to stay afloat.

Keep in touch.

I guess I will follow along in the background on MFP... Another team that I've been co-leading is going that direction as well.

I think all you have to do is ask to join or look at team options under Community.
** I've been trying to recover from a full computer crash on 7/12. Add to that, 28 days out in the field, and I kind of don't know if I'm coming or going!
emoticon
Relatives arrive today through the coming Tues. for next week's wedding on THURSDAY.

The heat is on so shortening the times we have the field open. Overall, fewer customers, so I've been managing the field by myself for about half the month.
emoticon
I have 3 or 4 sets of squares all set to sew together for quilt tops. The group just distributed 125 quilts that the group has made. I would say that 6-12 of those were ones that I contributed! -- I also have 2 completed quilt tops that need to be sandwiched and put together. One has been spoken for & is quite "overdue". -- I think it was the first or 2nd week of June when Iast "touched" fabric w/ the intent to sew.
emoticon
Other than all of that... I am possibly going to start a part-time job on a trial basis for 2 weeks, starting in August. Waiting to get the details. Neighbor who owns his business texted asking for HELP. Not completely positive that it will be a good fit. (Never took Shop in High School!)
Never know until you try, right?!

The Quilt and Lose team has moved to MyFitnessPlan, so I'm over there now. The tracker works pretty well and the more I use it the better I like it. I've only been over there for a few days and am only on the one group. I want to be involved with some other groups, but I haven't figured out how to join them, since most are private.
Oh, well, I still have a few weeks to figure things out. In the meantime I'm finishing one quilt and making blocks for a block swap. It keeps me busy and out of the kitchen.
Have you figured out what you are going to do on August 17?

Hi Berry,

I started in 2006 when the diet site I was using got taken over by another group. There were about a dozen of us that came to Spark. Most left around 2009 to go to Facebook. I had problems with Facebook before 2006 and swore I wouldn't use their site again.

The last I knew, Lou was living on the family farm in Illinois. She and her oldest brother owned it together, but she had other siblings and there was a lot of drama.

I hope you survived the weekend. It' much more pleasant today (although a bit humid). I'm sending best wishes and positive thoughts that your berry harvest will be successful and that all of your customers act like sober adults.

C, I'm sorry I haven't replied until now. I check the site several times a day, but now is the first time I've noticed this message. I hope the weekend went well for you.
I haven't figured out where I'm going when Spark closes down. I'm not impressed with the new Spark and I don't want to go to Facebook. Well I've got 6 weeks to figure it out.

m

What year did you start @TOWHEE ?
I know you were working with @LOU1DAY ~ Have you heard anything from her? She moved to be w/ family in another state if I remember correctly?

The berry harvest is supposed to start next week. I really do NOT do well w/ 100-anything!

I guess the positive is that the heat will "manage" the fruitfly for us (SWD). Beyond that, it just isn't safe for people to be out past noon IMO. Guess we'll see what plays out. (That's all that we can do!)

There's a family wedding the first week of August. Relatives coming into town on both sides. ~ Said it before, and it still fits: "It is what it is!"

We put some veggie starts in the ground and the slugs are eating them as fast as we can plant. Even w/ slug bait.

Quite the roller coaster of temps! (Even the weather man called it that.) Sunny today (Wed.) cloudy/rainy next 2 days. Up towards high 80's-90 by Sun./Mon/Tues. CRAZY!

Hope the month of May has been good to you in general! It's almost over w/ 5 days to go! Seems like it has been FLYING by!

I've been enjoying the nice afternoons lately. It's great when the temperatures get out of the 50's.
I've got green beans and tomatoes planted now. They seem to be triving.
I'm busy with one of my clubs. Our year ends on Friday, so there's lots to do to get ready for the new year and new officers.

Definitely been some COLD mornings! -- But the winds in our area have seemed to warm it up fairly quickly.
Since we heat with wood, we don't always get the wood stove going in the AM (particularly if I have some place to be)... but DH has to hunker down since he's been stuck working from home.

Had an "unplanned" busy day of it. -- I had one activity on the schedule, but got an AM phone call re. 2 different people that needed my interactions + text msgs for a weekend activity.

Turned out okay when I stopped watching the clock & worrying about being "late" to anything. I figured if I was helping people out, then I would get there when I got there!

A beautiful day for a walk once the temperatures got out of the 30's.. We saw 29 this morning, but we saw that several times last week. Our high today was a respectful 55.

Two and a half hours later and the lawn IS mowed + several wheelbarrows full of dug out briars. I so wanted to get to that before they put out their runners and took root all over the flower beds. Now I have scratched up ankles. At least I kept on a long sleeve top so my arms didn't get all scratched up!

Easter is 3 weeks away, and I'm planing to have the extended family over to enjoy each other around the table! Plenty of inside cleaning to get to with that in mind.

Heading back to sew for an hour or so. -- Steak fajitas for dinner tonight.

I think having adequate information is KEY to making personal choices for health. -- Just in case you think the EXPERIMENTAL covid mRNA is "just another flu shot'... think again.

These vaccines are "approved for emergency use"... but they have failed to do due diligence in proving just exactly WHAT the LONG TERM effects of this is going to be/have on all of us.

Currently, over 900 deaths and more than 11K in adverse events (including anaphylactic shock) have been reported by the end of January 2021. -- And there is NO recourse for any injury from the vaccine. Auto-immune conditions are a big concern for me!

Be wise. Do your research. Don't just line up without knowing what you are agreeing to have put into your body.

On Sunday, we celebrated the birthday of soon-to-be DIL. We enjoyed a meal together. The crazy is that we were so full, that none of us had room for dessert.

I did spend a LOT of time traveling from home to pt.A to pt.B to pt.C... then back to pt.B...and then back home. Then to a met-up to pick up the cell phone I forget on the side table at location 50 min away (less than 1/2 way). Then to a friend's place to deliver 7 quilt tops. Then...finally... home to stay! -- Left at 9:40 am. "Done" for the day about 8:30 pm. Whew!!

Always nice to enjoy celebrations with family!

And time visiting with my friend... We are two that see eye-to-eye on a whole lot of topics, issues, perspectives. This includes the FACT that NEITHER of us wear a mask anywhere we go. Enjoying the brightness & beauty of the snow! ...but staying off the roads. We've got 7 inches at out east location. DD in BG is snowed in with 11 inches. The snow is higher than the undercarriage of her Prius. (...and the bottom is rusted & not air tight.)

I've been sewing & working on quilt tops. We heat with a wood stove, so keeping that stoked with wood to keep the house warm. Thankful that we don't have too much wind for now.

In theory, the warmer temps (40's) should be here by Monday. It will melt sooner than not.

Hope you are all enjoying you Valentine's Day. Best to you!

Managed to walk 45 min today... First time this year passing 10K in steps. I would like to hit this "target" more often in the coming days! I actually got out the door BEFORE my to-do list kicked in.

Birthday party this weekend... Picked up balloons today. There is apparently an ongoing shortage of helium. I had to call 3 places before I found 1 that had some!

Happy to find the right birthday cake & cards. ~ Time to get the house cleaned up for company.

Currently helping DD w/ all her laundry since the wash machine at her residence is "out" & still hasn't been repaired... since Christmas! AND a health issue arose that is requiring almost daily changing of clothing, bedding, towels, etc. So now a major chore, either after she gets off work, or on her day off. Now I'm in the "mix" since she struggles to figure out my machine.

Thankful that I personally do not feel that the gov'r of any state can legally determine what I can and can't do. And fortunate that my friends and acquaintances feel the same way!

Saturday I managed my first walk of 2021. Thankful that my foot pain was not an "issue".

A couple of activities for Sunday (large group + meet up with son / Float Tank scheduled for Monday / Tues. meeting from 10 am-2pm at friend's house with 7 of us / Meeting with elderly friend on Wed. at her house

Since I can't go to work, I choose to engage in uplifting activities that feed my heart, soul and spirit. I will LIVE without fear.

Planning a birthday party for oldest son next weekend.

Also planning a 5-day beach get-away in 10 days! Looking forward to some vitamin Sea and walking in the sand!

I wish you all the courage to do what is healthy for you! ...no matter what others may say!

I guess it's my turn to write.
I finished one quilt on New Year's Eve and started on another quilt right away. This quilt is going fast since it has an iron-on applique. I "sandwiched" it yesterday, so I'm ready to quilt it today (or whenever I feel like it).
We got over an inch-and-a-half of rain yesterday! Three guesses why I did a WATP tape!

I got started first thing in my sewing room (instead of doing a bunch of other things & never getting to it!). -- AND I managed to complete 2 quilt tops for donation. (I send them to the group, along w/ a backing. They add the batting & tie them. I may get them back to sew the edges.)

I also kept eating really basic. Since I was busy in the sewing room, I started the day w/ a protein bar & a mug of coffee! I waited 4 hrs to have lunch (loaded veggie thin-crust pizza w/ a sliced avocado on top). Didn't really have "dinner"; just some dried seaweed + mixed nuts.

Got my 64+ oz of liquids today. (All liquids count! Even soup!)

Is anybody else surprised to see that we are already 1/3 of the way through this month?! -- The "best" thing so far is that the daylight is 20 min MORE than last month.

I got to do the airport "run" tonight. DH has a bad back & it's been giving him fits. He just didn't think he could manage it all.

Thankful to be done with the "doggy daycare" nonsense! And thankful that DS & DIL arrived safely back in the US from Ecuador. I guess that country was once again going into "lockdown" and they had to return their rental car early. So between 5-6 hrs at that airport, and 10 hrs in Atlanta plus 2 plane trips, they had been up for about 36 hrs. (DIL was born there. Her parents live there.)
emoticon
Anyway, I have a hard time driving at night...in the rain... dealing with bright lights, etc. I didn't use to have an issue, but I guess it's "older eyes", etc. Only had a couple of less-than-ideal occurrences! Yikes!

We had company over on New Year's Day. And we also went to someone else's house the day after Christmas. Ready to get back to some sort of "routine"...whatever that is?!

It is what it is. I'm not going to live life in fear of what "might" happen. I will hug anyone that needs/wants a hug, including the stranger that got stuck in the snow with us on Tues.
emoticon It was an adventure, and we made it back after all was said & done!

I would rather LIVE now, then miss out and never have the chance. No one knows if they will be here next Christmas. We only have the "gift" of today.

The sands of time just keeping moving on by...

Don't have any idea what is up ahead. Need to keep a constant reminder to make each day COUNT!

@IMJETTA8 ~ I "hear" you on the weight gain and the depression and the struggle the past 9 months have been. I finally stopped the runaway weight train, but still 50 lbs from a healthy weight. (I have a family wedding in August. I hope to get 35# down by then!)

My oldest son gave me a "memory" Christmas present by taking me to Mt.Hood on Tuesday for a SNOW DAY! ~ It was time well spent in every way! (Even though I fell 3 times & had to get to the chiropractor on Wed.)

sounds like a real chore dogsitting. for Christmas we usually make the banana pudding with the vanilla wafers. Son ate a whole bowl in 3 hours. Glad Christmas is over and this year is almost over. But I did get a Christmas present from daughter which I was happily surprised. She usually doesn't even send a card. Son called too which he doesn't usually although he just got married so maybe she told him to.

It is a beautiful chilly day today. We sure haven't had much if at any snow this year. I always look forward to it at least twice a year. it is so beautiful, I feel like a kid when it does.

Well, I am finally ready to get back on the bandwagon for my diet. I have gained so much since this pandemic. My depression doesn't help either. I know if I exercise, that it helps the depression but to get any strength to do it in the first place. Gesh, my weight is the highest it has been in over 30 years. Well, it is a new year to get started huh!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Hugs, Jetta

Blessings & Love, Jetta :-)

Your every loving act, thought & feeling blesses everyone everywhere... every time you smile, you are a channel for more love and beauty to come thru you and into our world.

I LOVE YOU!!

Spent most of Christmas Day in the kitchen. It was the only day that I spent extra time cooking special things. (Some people might call the meal a major cholesterol BOMB with a souffle' + bacon.) ~ Christmas is pretty much the only time I make it, and the kids requested it. I serve a blueberry sauce for a topping along w/ a fruit salad. Tried a "new" dessert & we talked about how to enhance it if made again. ~ Also, a crock pot full of another batch of applesauce!

Not happy having to provide "doggy daycare" for my son's miscreant dog. (Usually it's the owner's fault when I dog is a BRAT.) -- It's a 9-mon old cocker spaniel that's been treated like a baby since it was purchased at 7.5 weeks back in May. No boundaries. Not able to be kenneled.

Counting down the days until said son arrives back from vacation! This was supposed to be my daughter's undertaking, dealing w/ said animal. But she called in tears on Tues. because she couldn't work and manage the creature at the same time.

today is our laundry and cleaning day. It is rainy a bit outside but I love the rain. I am doing the finishing touches on my grandson's soft baby book.

Plantar fascitis is painful. it is hard to not walk on it. clunky shoes are good as long as they are comfortable lol

Have a good rest of your day!

Read today that NOT working out and allowing plantar fasciitis to HEAL is preferred emoticon Not sure what is best. emoticon emoticon

I think I'm caught up a bit from my 2-hr night, Tues. into Wed. Had to get DD to the airport for a flight to Florida. -- Now she thinks she wants to stay?!

Picked up a couple of pairs of shoes for my feet. One I really like. The other...not so much. They just plain look "clunky"!

Here comes the weekend! Hope your's is a GOOD one!

Happy to see the sunshine. emoticon Definitely chilly temps. It took quite awhile to get out of the 30's at our house!

Did a wee bit of grocery shopping & picked up some meat for a beef stew. (Not tonight. Still finishing up turkey!)

Planning to start small w/ some exercises to help with my plantar fasciitis. (Some days it's worse than others...)

I liked the Spark People blog about stretches to do every day!
