Friday: Last day of the month. Hoping August is a good month. Meantime letís make this last day of July a good one!

Dropped off a care package and ice bag for John. Has a pretty good bruise from wearing the seat belt when he had his accident.

Then dropped off a care package to Clara Ė and reminded her to demand a mold inspection in her apartment before she moves back. The carpet was soggy. So, all that will have to be ripped out. Just donít want her to have to deal w/mold after all this, too!

Off to PT this morning w/Jason. Will wait in the car and pay bills. Have my Ďoffice in a bagí Ė a small briefcase where I keep the bills, stamps, pens, paper, envelopes and a small stapler. Handy! I may take a walk, too. Just too nice outside!

Happy FriYay! HUGS

Hope everyone has a good last day of July. Hard to believe that much time has already past in 2020. Ready for the month to end . . . and 2020!

Update: Talked w/Clara again this morning. I swear that management company for the apartment is full of . . . fill in the blank! She is moved into another apartment, but they told her that she will have to be moved into another apartment while hers is being renovated. Umkay. The apt. they showed her is much smaller and in a less desirable building then her apartment. Hereís the rub . . . they would charge her the same amt of rent as for her currently trashed apartment. ARE YOU SERIOUS! Then theyíre also trying to tell her that the clog in the plumbing was only affecting her apartment and so the plumbing bill is her responsibility. OH REALLY NOW! She followed up on that one and her apartment is not the origin of the clog, for #1. AND it was verified that her apartment is not the only one affected. These people are such scammers and it just makes me totally furious! So, getting some legal advice about this. NO WAY are they going to take advantage of her. She is a woman on a mission. Donít know where she gets that from. HA!

Thursday: Does the fun ever end? Yesterday Clara called to let us know that her apartment had flooded. The neighborís plumbing was clogged and it took the management 18 hrs. to respond! GRRrrrr. In the meantime Clara called a plumber and got the water turned off. Her couch was ruined, the carpet. The floor. So she has to move into a new apartment unit. We told her to be SURE they reimburse her for damages and the plumberís fee!!! The management company should have done that. Honestly, is there any sanity left in this world!

HUGS and wow! Friday Jr.

Tuesday: Waiting to hear back from John to see how heís feeling. I know he felt all right yesterday, but I explained that he needs to get checked out as the adrenaline and the shock will prevent him from feeling the discomfort for awhile. So, I hope he did get checked out. **SIGH**

Have to get the lawn mowed this morning. Cooler than itís been, so thatís a help.

Thatís about all the news thatís fit to print from here.

Hugs and have a terrific Tuesday.

Monday: Well, had storms blow through here last night. Lots of rain, but we were all right.

Thermostat is supposed to be replaced today, and hope itís on schedule.

Not sure what the heck is going on, but yesterday the portable phone quit. Have to get new batteries. This morning, the coffee maker decided to resign. THATíS not good for a Monday! So, after the thermostat is replaced, and after Jas has PT we have to head to the store to replace those items. GAH!

OH, and then we pay the 2nd Ĺ of our real estate taxes. OH JOY! The pocketbook is crying.

While we were in the parking lot preparing to leave the bank Jas' phone rang. It was John. His car is demolished (sent a pic and cannot imagine it won't be totaled . . . has just had the car since May. **SIGH**) He is physically all right -- at least so far. We didn't get details till he called back. He was on the highway and a deer crossed the road. **SIGH** Front end is completely gone. Lord, that kid cannot catch an ever-lovin' break. He's going to call later. But at least we know he's all right now.

Motivated Monday! Last on in July! Lordy!!

Blessings and hugs

Glad all my stuff is working (knock on wood and cross my fingers) because we are in a heat advisory today, ugh! I'm fine instead, so that's where I'm staying, with the dogs. Already got my run in before it gets bad.

Had a great half-marathon on Saturday, not a great time as in how fast I ran, but a great time running and enjoying myself and the scenery. There may be another one in August if NY can continue to hold things together.

We have nearly cleaned the whole house, which is exciting! Went through a bunch of old stuff and rearranged or tossed most of it, so now there's floor space all over my upstairs, hooray! Expecting to get a bookshelf later this week to put the rest of my games on, and then we'll see how we are doing.

Back to the grind, today is a no-meetings day, so I'm just trying to get stuff done.

Saturday: Take out breakfast today. Our friends couldnít make it so we decided to chill @ home. Ah well.

Going to be hot and humid for sure. Today and tomorrow . . . guess itíll be mostly indoor days.

And thankfully noticed, the thermostat on our JUST OVER A YEAR OLD HVAC system is not operating. GRRRrrrr. Supposed to have a tech here between 9 and 11 am today. I hope so. Hot Ďní humid out there.

HUGS and enjoy Saturday.

Well, my college students either did GREAT or utterly failed. Which is about right for an online class. I email them every. single. weekday. so it isn't like they don't know what's happening, they just don't have prioritization and management skills.

My online coding kiddos had a blast, and I'll have a bunch of them again for an advanced class next week.

I'm just excited to have tomorrow "off" - I still have lots to do, but I don't have to directly respond to any students. And then Saturday I'm running another half marathon! I'm excited about that too. I'm hoping for less humidity this time, but I know better.

Tuesday: Got Jas to PT. Mowed and edged the lawn, and it looks lots better. My seeded area is growing. Made tomato soup. Relaxed last night for sure. I think the heat from the last few days took some of my energy.

Yesterday, though, was a beautiful day Ė only up to 80 and much lower humidity. Supposed to be that way again today. Hurray!

Happy Sunday! We had a nice easy weekend, mostly inside because it was crazy hot. The dogs were allowed back at the farmer's market yesterday, which was fun! My pug has missed all the people. My Chihuahua did not bark at everyone, so we'll take that as a win.

Today, I made more pickles, and froze a bunch of zucchini from my farm share. I've also been freezing berries so I'm hoping to have good stuff to last me a while.

Here's to a good week folks!

Well, it was finally cool enough this morning to turn on fans to cool my downstairs, woohoo! I'll have to turn them off by 9am, because it will be getting warm again, but I'll take a nice cool morning for sure.

I think my calves have recovered from Saturday's half. My calves are always my tightest muscle, but I've been stretching and putting topical muscle cream on them for a few days, and they feel good. Just in time to do our usual Wednesday evening run/walk up the local switchbacks.

Ok, off to get my day going!

Sending good thoughts to you and the family for sure!

I ran an actual half-marathon this weekend! It was broken up over multiple times and days so there were no more than 50 people starting at a time, and for over 12 miles of it, I was completely by myself, but it was fun to go somewhere, run fast, have water available, and get a medal at the end! It was crazy humid though, but I did well, my fourth fastest.

Now I'm back to trying to keep to a schedule where I effectively get things done. Trying. You know. I'm on it, almost done with one online class, but more coming. At least I'm still working, I feel thankful for that.

Monday: A little more humid today, but still nice.

Chill day yesterday, which is nice. Today Ė phone calls. PT early, as well.

John and Ry came for a little visit this morning after we got home from PT. That was nice. Ry is always excited to see Miss Lilly.

He is looking forward to going back to school. Guess that the schools by him have determined it will be 3 days in the school building on a rotating basis and 2 days distance (on-line) learning. Yikes. That is going to be a tremendous burden for working parents. But thatís what the school district decided.

HUGS and have a motivated Monday.

Thursday: More comfortable yesterday, but still humid. Storms expected today. We shall see.

Jas has his Dr. appt. today. Did see the MRI report on-line. 2 major things going on, but both, I believe are amenable to his PT and aquatherapy. So thatís where weíre at. Waiting to see what the Dr. says.

Enjoy Friday JR. Stay hydrated!

Update: This is not a happy situation. **SIGH** The conclusion of the visit w/the neurologist is to see a neurosurgeon. The stenosis, (narrowing of the spinal canal) is moderate and is not going to get better (knew that). There is a bone spur impinging on the nerve (has to be removed). Have to set up a neurosurgery consult.

That's where the really bad begins. #1. If he has to have surgery, I can't be with him. #2. There are still protesters downtown, which is where the neurosurgeon apparently does surgery.

Just need lots of prayers while we work thru this. My first instinct is to head to Mayo, but even that travel option is really risky. **SIGH** Just feel trapped, sad, helpless and overwhelmed. Need prayers.

Melissa: Had a torrential downpour yesterday for about 5 minutes. That was it. Storms expected today, but . . . nothing materializing so far. No complaints about that.

I had my first of the half sour pickles yesterday, and they were good!

Still too hot this week, took the dogs out super early this morning.

I seem to have lost the on switch for my brain today, but I'm sure I'll figure it out, or take my adderall early, whatever. I'm glad its summer, far less deadlines!

Monday: More restful night, thank goodness.

Jas has PT today, so Iíll be chief chauffer. Good to get out.

I will be glad when we get the results of the MRI. BUT each day is a little better, so I know weíre on the right track.

Hereís to a motivated Monday.

HUGS

Melissa: Oh I love the haricote verdes as a snack, too. Enjoy!

Yes, our weather is definitely HOT HOT HOT for the coming week, as well.

Have a good one.

Getting myself sorted for a hot week up here. I don't much like anything over 80, and we are looking at highs in the 90s all week. Ugh. I ran early this morning, and had the dogs out and back before 7:30am.

Happy for green bean season, just bought a big bag and will be munching on them all week ass my snacks, cool, local, and good for me!

Sunday: Doesnít feel like a Sunday, but . . . it is!

Last night was pretty peaceful, surprisingly. Thankfully.

Hope itís a blessed Sunday.

Melissa: We had fireworks going off from 8 pm till 1 am. Miss Lilly was scared. Wrapped her in her blanket and cuddled w/her. She finally settled in, but not till late. Slept a lot of the day, poor baby.

Hope thatís the end of it, but I fear theyíre going to set more off tonight.

Otherwise a nice weekend.

Saturday: Breakfast with our frineds @ the diner yesterday . . . diner closed today. HOT and steamy. NOT much outdoors will get done.

Just a quiet day today. Will watch the Capitol 4th on PBS tonight. NO fireworks . . . . cancelled. But thatís the story in many, many places.

BBQ chicken, potato salad, and a red, white and blue parfait (blueberries, strawberries in vanilla yogurt.

HUGS and have a wonderful 4th.

Friday: Have to get 3 items @ the store, so off early to do that. Have to get the laundry done and water the seeded areas of grass. I dread seeing the water bill.

Hey, itís FriYay!

HUGS

Melissa: Hot here, too, at least for the next 10 days.

NO plans here for the 4th, either.

NO fireworks here, except what people set off themselves. Our neighbor was crazy last night and poor Miss Lilly was inconsolable.

Have a safe holiday.

Happy Friday! Hot week ahead, ugh. Not planning anything for the "holiday" weekend except my usual stuff, although the partner wants burgers tomorrow, so I'll have to get those. Hoping the locals with the fireworks don't go too much crazier than it has been (which is already bad) because my pug is not a fan. My chihuahua doesn't seem to care, but the pug runs back and forth barking.

Have a great weekend and enjoy if you are celebrating!

Well, I got all wet again this morning, and last night we got rained out, well, more like lightening and thundered out, because rain doesn't slow down runners, but lightening does!

Seems to be clearing up now, which is good because there is a Market I like to go to this morning.

I have a pork belly in my crockpot, yum! Probably do BBQ tonight and maybe stir fry tomorrow.

Happy July! A slightly cooler start to today, but still thunderstorms and humidity. That's okay, managed to get the dogs out this morning while it was still dry.

New veggie from my farm share today and I'm expecting more cucumber, so I'm planning on taking those and the garlic scapes and making half sour pickles, yum!

Have a good Wednesday!
