Wednesday: Made it here safely. Early appointments tomorrow. Hoping it yields answers!

Wish I had good news. Jas and I had the visit w/the thyroid specialist. 3 nodules in the right lobe of thyroid. Has biopsy scheduled w/lymph nodes as they are highly suspicious of cancer. Just have no more I can say about it. Numb

Look at me with three days in a row! Not much to say today, because I'm just slogging through my week trying to get things done, but at least I'm sticking to my schedule of checking in.

Good luck with all the appointments!

So warm this morning it is crazy. I'm over it, I want my crisp fall air back. Should rain all day today, so maybe that will help.

Okay, another busy one, lots to accomplish! Have a good day!

I did in fact catch up on most of my school stuff Friday and accomplished a lot of house goals over the weekend, including a decent amount of food prep type stuff. I have a mostly plan for this week, and I think I got this. I just joined a new Spark challenge, so I should be popping in every day as part of it.

Got all wet with the dogs this morning on our walk, so I gave them baths afterwards! At least the sun is coming out now.

Friday: Got a call from the neurosurgeonís office yesterday afternoon. Surgeries are being booked pretty far into the future, so it was suggested we set up an surgical date to be set just in case the thyroid isnít the answer. So Ė as of now, weíd leave on 01 November, Jas would have another Covid test on the 2nd and surgery on the 04th of November. I hope it doesnít come to pass, but have to be prepared.

Hope itís a good Friday for one and all.

Wednesday: Well, we got the call to set up the endocrine appointment. It was set for 9-28. THEN we got a call from the neurologist. She recommended an endo evaluation. Guess what! Already scheduled! Doh. Anyhow, Jas needs an ultrasound and blood work. The appointment ended up being changed to the 30th so we could have both done @ the same time. Then everything can proceed form the thyroid standpoint.

She also mentioned that IF nothing is found of significance w/the thyroid they MAY re-consider the neck surgery (she had talked w/the neurosurgeon). So, IF the thyroid treatment or whatever happens doesnít help, may STILL go back if surgery is recommended.

Got all that? Good, Iím still wrapping my head around it all, too.

Hereís to a great Wednesday. Mid-week!

HUGS

Melissa: Yes, little dogs definitely have a different schedule than ours! LOL

Warm-ish weather is back for a bit, so I'm planning to try and get some good sun the rest of this week! Gotta get what I can since we are more dark than light through December now - happy Equinox yesterday!

This morning is going to be some catch-up time, but then this afternoon is all meetings then class, crazy! I am used to the crazy, but finding ways to make it less is still my goal. I'm actually almost a little better with my at-home schedule than I was going into work, because I don't lose time in physical transitions as much. However, I do get distracted by small dogs who's schedule is not always the same as mine!

That reminds me that we are probably going to need to mow soon as well, but that might be it for the season for me, depending on frosts, etc. Although temps are going up again next week. Welcome Fall with near 80-degree days!

Still working on balancing my insane life, but so far, so good, more or less. I gotta find a better time to plan each week, I keep losing things I need to do and then having to rush to get them done. I'm good at that, but it is not ideal.

Glad y'all are back safe, and still hoping for the best!

I've had a busy few days getting class stuff and other stuff sorted and accomplished, and on Friday I ran 18.2 miles. Yesterday was all making videos for church - I did a "virtual" choir, so that takes a little audio/video finesse.

I also acquired a lot of fun chicken parts, including necks and feet, and made a lovely stock, just in time for the cool weather! Although, we're back up in the 50s-70s next week.

Here's to a better week than the last one!

Thursday: Awaiting call backs for more testing. UGH. Unbelievable. But grateful surgery was not done unnecessarily.

Lovely day today. No more haze.

HUGS and thankful Thursday.

Yes, for sure, better to get @ the root cause vs. surgery! MAY still need surgery down the road, but first things first. Sort out the thyroid problem.

Wow! That is a very long day! BUT glad it was a productive one.

Wow - that is some crazy stuff, but finding and sorting the root cause is far better than cutting into things, so definitely go with it! All my best wishes are heading for you all.

I ended up on campus from 9:30am to 7:30pm yesterday, longest day I've had in a while. It was good though, I saw some students I hadn't seen in a while, and collected some new ones for my clubs. My microbiology students did an excellent job in their stains, and I actually was relatively productive. Today should be a bit more chill, and I get my second to last farm share!

Wednesday: Labs and tests thus far all normal. Just await the covid result. Update: Covid test negative!

We see the neurologist and the neurosurgeon today. We will find out the surgical time tomorrow night after 8:15 pm. WE have to call in @ that time and then weíre told the time.

Soooooo . . . we wait!

Ok Ė update. Interesting discussion w/the neurologist. Scared. Jas has started to have weakness in his legs. NOT constant, just when he gets up. Discovered he has nocules on both sides of the thyroid. Could that be causing the neuropathy? Possibly. Could that be causing the leg weakness? Possibly. So, NOW he had a whole panel of thyroid labs drawn and will have another EMG and probably ultrasound of the thyroid. We meet w/the neurosurgeon later this afternoon for the game plan. My brain is about to cave in.

Updated update: Ok. The brain cavity is now completely empty. After discussions w/the neurologist and neurosurgeon, they feel that another EMG of the legs is in order (thatís on tap for Friday). And the results of the labs drawn so far show he is hyperthyroid! OMG in heaven. That really could be @ the cause of all of this! Also looking for an inflammatory process, and any autoimmune problems. Whole Ďnuther bucket of worms, BUT . . . we are glad no surgery. NOW to be in hot pursuit of the root cause. So testing being done towards that end.

Will let you know what we find out when I am able. PRAYERS, please.

HUGS

Melissa: as you can see. Surgery was cancelled. Very few times I'm speechless, but . . . . today was one of them. BUT have to pursue what is going on.

Good luck to Jas for surgery!

I'm heading to campus soon because we are having and outdoor, distanced, mask-wearing club day and I'm going to help promote the two clubs I run, anime and gaming. This is the first time I'll actually be on campus for more than a few hours since March. I've got a Mon/Wed night class, but that's just me hiding out in the lab. I'm excited to try and see some folks - from a safe distance!

Cool weather is definitely here! Loving it.

Yes, bit of a roller-coaster ride, and I donít like roller coasters!

Sadly, yes, farm season is winding down. Spoiled w/all the fresh produce, though I have to say, our grocery stores do have good produce. I shall miss home grown tomatoes off the vine! Have some in the freezer for sauce (romas), but donít like the tomatoes from the grocery store, for sure.

Man, your family really is just one thing after another, huh!

I'm getting back into my groove, ran this morning, and now chilling on a Zoom office hour in case my students have questions. Then I'll catch up on grading and emails. Tonight I'm on campus for microbiology, some things you just can't have them do at home!

Farm season is winding down, but I managed to fill my freezer with zucchini, berries, corn, and other assorted items, so I'll be enjoying those for a few months. We're getting green tomatoes this week in my farm share (that's how you know it might finally get chilly!) so I'll give my annual attempt at low carb fried green tomatoes. Maybe I'll try the air fryer this time.

Tuesday: Where to start. Canít say our house is EVER dull.

Got a text from DD Clara in the early afternoon yesterday. It was a picture of her left hand with a wedding set on the ring finger captioned: ďSurprise! We eloped.Ē O . . . M . . . G. Shortly after she sent the text the phone rang and it was Clara. Apparently they got married in San Diego CA earlier yesterday. I canít believe it. Just gobstruck. No other word for it. All I could do was wish them luck. What else can I say. So that was in the afternoon. You just canít make this stuff up!!!! Seriously, life has got to straighten up and fly right @ some point in time.

Later DS John called. She must have texted him, as well. He said, ďIs this for real?Ē I said, yes, they got married. Weíre all pretty stunned (to say the least. )

So, letís just say, the rest of the day was rather anticlimactic, to say the least.

It was very cloudy, but didnít have rain yesterday, but it started overnight. Looks like the bulk of the rain is going to be all day today and into tomorrow.

Have labs early this morning, so out the door.

Hugs.

Happy post-Labor Day Tuesday!

Okay, I got really lost there while trying to get my semester off the ground, but I think I'm ready to find a good groove in which I have time for both life AND school stuff!

Anyway, I had a nice long weekend with a bunch of good running, and although its a bit warm this week, the cool-down is coming this weekend, woohoo!

Hope things have been good for y'all, I'll have to read back and check it out!

No day but today ...

Sunday: Thank goodness yesterday was such a beautiful day! Looks like today is not supposed to be as nice. Rain later. We do need it, though.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Friday: Well yesterday did not turn out how I thought it would! Noticed that the kitchen sink was draining pretty slow. Thank goodness the plumber was able to come out and it was a big clog. He was here 3 hrs. LORD have mercy. Donít ask about the bill. The credit card was just screaming. And sobbing at the same time!

At least today is Friday. Dental appt. , then Jasí PT and another video-conference so full day. Ok, Iím tired.

HUGS and happy Friday!

Wednesday: Cloudy day, in the 70ís yesterday. That wasnít too bad, thought. Looks like today will be much the same.

Got more meals made for the freezer so weíll be set when we get back home.

Feel so bad for John. He just had a tough day w/everything. But he felt a little better after we talked. Heís been working very long days, which has kept him busy. Thatís good.

Hereís to a wonderful Wednesday.

Tuesday: Miss Lilly did well @ the vet. Lab work was NORMAL! That is a hallelujah moment as she does have liver disease. So her liver is functioning right now! Good news!

Jasí PT went well. And we had a video-conference w/the surgeon. That went well, too. So, things are moving along.

Hereís to a terrific Tuesday!
