Wednesday: Well, we have 5 in. of heavy, wet snow. UGH. The plowing service came Ďround VERY early (driveway was done by 4:30 am! Impressed w/that). The street plow, however, duped LOTS of snow on the apron Ė it was about 2-3 ft. high. Had to get @ it so it didnít turn into Mt. Icemore. Got it done. THEN . . . wait for it . . . the plow went by AGAIN! But at least this time it was an easy clear. PHEW. Got my exercise.

Good day for staying in! Thatís the plans for the rest of today.

Will finish up getting my files ready for 2021.

HUGS and wonderful Wednesday.

Melissa: Sounds like a good day lined up! Snow and ice, here, too. Not really hospitable to walk safe at this point. Once walkways are cleared, it'll be better . . . till Friday when we get MORE!

Well, it was cold this morning, but no precipitation, so I got in what will probably be my last run for 2020, and hit 101 miles for December, and 1610 for 2020 as a whole, woohoo! Tonight is supposed to be some kind of junk weather into tomorrow, expecting a slick of ice over everything, so I'm taking tomorrow off. Other than the dogs, but if it's icy, they won't want to go far either.

I was very productive on school stuff yesterday, and I'm hoping for more of the same today, I have a two hour time block of focused work coming up here, and I plan to use it effectively!

Have a great Wednesday!

We got some exciting lake effect snow overnight, but it was all fluffy stuff! Easy enough for me to shovel, so I didn't even bother with our snow blower. Dogs had a bit of fun in it, but still cold quick! We might get some more tomorrow night, and then it is going to rain again!

Went running with a friend yesterday round the neighborhoods, so that was nice.

My husband just realized that he's turning 40 in 4 months, and then agreed to let me be his health coach between now and then so that he can be healthy for his 40s (plus, he keeps watching me and realizes that he's getting behind)! We start on Jan 3rd, although I'm planning to give him some homework between now and then.

Tuesday: Expecting 5-7 in. of snow starting tonight. Looks like thereíll be a little snow shoveling in my future. We have a plow service for the driveway, as I cannot operate the snow blower.

John saw the Dr yesterday. Has food poisoning. But feeling better. The Dr. emphasized the need for plant-based nutrition. So, hope he listens.

Jason did well in PT yesterday. The therapist is pleased w/his progress. So, that makes ME happy.

HUGS and terrific Tuesday.

Merry (belated) Christmas!

I took a bit of a break from getting things done for a bit, which was nice. Today Iím jumping back into trying to maintain a bit of a weekly schedule so I donít completely lose track over the break.

We had a nice, easy Christmas, which we actually usually do, because our familyís preferred holiday is Thanksgiving, and we live all over the country, so weíve been doing online Christmas since before it was cool! My parents and two sisters and families all jumped on Zoom on the 26th and opened our present Amazon boxes. My husband and I didnít even do gifts this year, but we did have a nice chicken dinner on Christmas Eve, and chilled out and watched new movies on Christmas Day. I enjoyed watching, but did not love either Soul or Wonder Women 1984. Eh, canít win them all!

Nothing much on the schedule this week except what I put there, so thatís great!

No day but today ...

Sunday: Had a quiet day again. Glad of that. John called in the morning. He has the flu. Poor kid. Cannot catch a break.

Looks like we may get some snow today. Dark and dreary, but nice inside!!! Had to run to the store this morning (in and out by 7 am!) It worked out perfectly. Nobody there, got what I needed and out!

Hope all is well.

Wishing you blessings and hugs.

Saturday: Had a wonderful, quiet Christmas. Watched Itís a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story and A Christmas Carol. Wonderful to get in the Christmas spirit.

We enjoyed Zoomíing w/the kids. Both tired from working, so wanted to sleep. Donít blame them.

Had a few phone calls from family and friends. Wonderful.

Another leisurely day today I think.

HUGS and happy Day after Christmas!

Tuesday: Cards to the post office. DONE! Meatloaf in the oven. Smells so good.

Got Miss Lilly out for her morning walk. Cold, so she moved quick and then curled up in her little bed by the heat register soaking up the heat. She even had her coat on outside, but still cold. Poor baby.

Have some bills to pay (exciting . . . NOT)

Hugs and terrific Tuesday.

I am getting my "to do" list moving this week since classes are finally done and I have far less "obligated" time. I actually did quite a lot yesterday, although not quite everything I was hoping for.

The most important thing got done though, and that was my Mom's Christmas gift. She wanted a calendar of pictures of the grandkids/granddogs (two of the three of us have dogs, the other has children). I had to coordinate who would get which months, bug my sisters for pictures, and put it all together in VistaPrint. I did it, and it says it will arrive before Christmas, so woohoo!

Cold weather starts today and through the next four, looks like low teens overnight which means I may need to drip a faucet or two. It also makes it much harder to walk the Chihuahua. Looks like it bounces back up a little after that and we might get a white Christmas.

No day but today ...

I did my crazy Latke making party - live on Facebook - Saturday morning. It was great! I gave away a lot of them, but I have some more still to get to people today. I did not eat too many, so that's good.

It is going to be COLD this week, nothing above freezing, ugh, but I have my warm things ready, including fleece lined sweatpants for running.

Okay, Happy Monday and let's kick this week in the ass!

Hello! I went running in the snow on Wednesday, not too much snow, just about 1/4-1/2 inch on the ground, it was fun.

Had my last classes Wednesday and yesterday, and this morning I have a make-up with a student, and, then I shouldn't have to set foot on campus for months, all online next semester! Although I might go over and make a few more lab videos during January break when it is quiet.

Happy Hannukah! My family is half-Jewish, so I don't really celebrate, but I acknowledge and make latkes - potato for friends, and this year, sweet potato and zucchini for me!

Wednesday: John texted. He talked w/the Dr after the scans. He has moderate sclerosis (scarring) of the liver. Will have to be on plant-based diet and meds for the long haul. Slim chance of the liver healing, but may see some improvement over 2-4 yrs. **SIGH** Of course, no alcohol. It all just makes me so sad. But he has to do the best he can taking care of himself. The Dr. seems to feel it was an exposure to something, but not sure specifically what.

Clara is so grieving the divorce. I donít blame her on general principles, but . . . her life is going to be so much happier down the road. So, just have to keep working w/the lawyer to expedite things. Fairly uncomplicated since theyíve only been married a short time. Can I editorialize? Heís a jerk. Heís toxic.

Jason got his mouse yesterday. Happy man w/his new toy. And it works!

Man oh man, the crazy.

Mine is actually chilling, at least in terms of school - I am *currently* caught up on grading! That won't last, because today is lab report due date day, tomorrow my Micro student's reports are due, and then I expect late papers to trickle in like crazy for another week, but I'll take it!

I've also got to get to work on church stuff, as we are doing a Hannukah service this week, and Solstice service next week, and a Christmas Eve service, and I'm coordinating (and in many cases performing) the music for all of it - which means lots of pre-recording (all on Zoom).

Alright, off to do more things.

Monday: Jasonís wireless mouse died yesterday, so ordered one through Amazon. Should be delivered today. I HOPE SO!

Ok, talk about a challenging morning already. Got Miss Lilly out for her walk. Had to get the garbage to the curb (p/u day today.) Have to move Jasonís car to get the can out of the garage. Problem #1. The battery in his car is DEAD. Okee dokee then. Time to hook up the battery charger. Problem #2. Where the heck is the battery?? Had to look up in the manual. It has a cover on it, and thatís why I didnít know it was the BATTERY. Problem #3. Getting the cover off. Lord have mercy! Finally got it off after 5 minutes of grunting and groaning. Got the battery charger hooked up. Moved MY car to the driveway to get the garbage can to the curb. PHEW. Figured I may as well sweep the leaves out of the garage while the car was moved. Yeah. Got that done.

Now, enter the house again and . . . problem #4. A light in the fixture over the kitchen table blew. So, had to drag out the step stool and take care of that.

ALL of this was done WITHOUT even one sip of coffee. PHEW.

John goes to the VA today for his scans and visit w/the specialist. We pray there is a treatment plan put in place for him. Right now heís on medication and does feel a bit better and is getting used to a plant-based diet. Not easy for a meat-and-potatoes kinda guy who loves to experiment w/food. **SIGH** The biggest thing is finding out the root cause of the problem.

Clara seems to be getting over her cold. I think the weekend off helped.

HUGS and hereís to a marvelous Monday.

So, letís make it the best Friday possible.

OH I couldn't agree more. Definitely an exorcism of 2020! NEVER to be repeated again. EVAH!

It's been chilly by me, and we even got some snow, but not enough to cause trouble. Enough to annoy my chihuahua though, and today he peed on a chair while I was teaching class online, so that was kind of exciting. Only a week and a half left this semester!

Dude, your family is definitely having a year! Good luck to your son. I'm thinking we need some kind of mass exorcism for New Years on all of 2020.

Thursday: John got a call from his Dr. yesterday morning. He is to start on meds immediately. Specialist appointment being arranged. He has acute liver disease. Meanwhile he says heís feeling a little better. Just so worried about him. At 28 heís been through way too much. Itís hard to wait, but have to also get the testing results to know the cause of the liver problem. For sure it is dauting as a Mom to know that this is a life-long problem for him. **SIGH**

Well, Thursday is here. HOPE itís a good one.

Wednesday: John called yesterday. He was ill and needed to call Clara to take him to the hospital. She lives close by. Called her and she took him. Went to the hospital to get John when he was discharged (no visitors allowed).

Sadly, he has several health issues going on. Got some medication in the meantime, but has to see a specialist.

I just am soooooooo over this year. Feels like itís just a black hole! But with prayers and John following what he is to do to take care of himself, heíll be all right.

That was the bulk of the day. UGH.

Where on Earth did November go? Only two more weeks of school! Then at least my daily schedule is easier to keep up with, however, I have a lot of work to do to prep for Spring semester as well, so I can't just stop.

Nice sunny weather today, I'm thinking about trying to take a few short walks while I work.
