I cannot believe it is April in a few hours, yikes! This year is flying by. I did manage to get in a run and two dog walks today before the snow hits. My area may get anywhere from 2-10 inches - although I'm in the valley, so we're usually on the low side, plus, I have nowhere to be. At least the next few days are pretty easy for me.

Wednesday: Lovely but windy day yesterday. Today windy and cold. Oh well. At least no precipitation.

Today just getting things together for our trip to Mayo.

Hugs and wonderful Wednesday.

Melissa: Good for you getting 1/2 your to do's done! Not bad!

Yes, we're supposed to get snow on Thursday, too. Don't think it will be a lot nor will it stick around. HOPEFULLY

Okay, I got two of the four things I intended to get done yesterday, so today I can work on the other ones and hope that I don't acquire too many more!

At least it isn't snowing today, and should be in the 60s. I am prepared for snow on Thursday though!

For the purposes of keeping kids from partying during a pandemic (which actually was technically not really a problem at my community college) - SUNY cancelled all Spring Breaks this year, and I'm already over this no break thing. Absolutely over it. I am still behind, but have no way to relax or catch up, just keep on making things crazy. Note to self - Spring Break is necessary!

Okay, but although my time is limited and my stress is insane, I have been really good about about exercising and eating well, so I'll give myself that much! I'm trying to get my time management re-sorted, but no promises!

Friday: Well, hoping for a quiet day. At least itís Friday! HURRAY.

We had to go to the vet w/Miss Lilly. She has sneezed her little heart out, scratching her ears and shaking her head. Figured it was more allergies, but had to be sure. She has a yeast infection in both ears, and allergies. 3 medications later, hopefully she will feel better. AND she has to take human Zyrtec, as well. Good heavens.

HUGS and have a good day.

Well, I managed to lose a week there! That's okay, I've been super busy with work stuff, church stuff, home stuff, and I ran a half-marathon! Also, I beat my best time by 14 minutes!!

Even better news - we managed to slide into some open vaccine slots, and got our first Moderna shot! My arms was a little achy for a day, but no other noticeable effects for me. The partner was knocked out most of the second day.

Okay, I'm trying to get myself back on schedule and such, so hopefully I'll be back tomorrow!

We have managed to get away without any more snow so far, and tomorrow and the next few days look warmer. My pups will be happier about that. Well, the pug is happy in the cold, but the chihuahua gets all shivery.

I cannot believe it is the middle of March already, this semester is flying by, and I still have a lot to upload to my online classes. At least my students are as far behind as me!

It was indeed pretty cold this morning! At least it was sunny the rest of the day, although still cold. I put on gloves to take the dogs around the block in the evening.

It was a long day, I had class this morning, and then a meeting until 8pm. However, I did catch up to all of my classes! Woohoo!

Well, the clock change didn't mess me up too much, but man did most of my church folks get screwed up by it! It least hanging out online makes it less awkward for folks to pop in late. I was there the whole time. I'm not usually messed up by time changes, I adjust pretty quickly. Mostly, I'm annoyed that tomorrow the sun won't be up until 7:20am and its going to be 15 degrees! However, the ground is still dry, so I'll probably go for an early run anyway, just gotta bundle up.

Well, I took advantage of the good weather and got in almost 12 miles this morning. I did almost 5 before waking up the dogs, then about a mile with them, and then 6 more. This is good, because my first half marathon of the season is in 9 days!

Now, I'm waiting for students in Zoom and my pups are snoring across the room.

It definitely got nice yesterday afternoon with around 46, and although it is chilly this morning, it is supposed to make it into the 50s this afternoon, and then stay warm overnight! I've been trying to plan in a long run this week, and I'm going for tomorrow morning.

Yesterday I went all the way to campus to meet a student, and they did not show up. Oh well. I always expect that as a possibility. Campus is only 2 miles from me, so it isn't really that bad, and I got to chat with someone on campus I haven't seen in quite a while, so that was nice.

I believe that warmth that you are getting should be coming my way today. I'm excited about that! Yesterday, I did take a mid-day walk in the sunshine, but my fingers were still freezing after five minutes. Other than that it was nice.

Glad your vaccine went well! My partner and I finally scheduled ours for April 9th, as NY is getting a bit easier to get in.

I had a somewhat busy, but not the worst weekend, although it was super cold this morning. However, it is meant to be nice by Wednesday. I'm planning my long run for Wed morning!

I'm still behind on school stuff, but that seems to be my standard state of affairs at this point! Oh well, this week should be easier than my last few.

Thursday: This week has just sped by! Good grief.

Deep cleaned in the kitchen as I made a few meals for the freezer. Thatís a good thing.

Lovely day yesterday. On the 40ís and sunny all day! Looks like a repeat . . . Iíll take it.

Hope itís a great Thursday.

HUGS

Melissa: I had such a wuss for a lab partner (a guy). HE was afraid to dissect the eye. I thought when we got to the vitreous he was gonna toss his cookies! LOL Me Ė I thought it was a hoot. We also had to do a fetal pig. Same lab partner. Did all the work. BUT loved it. LOL Go figure.

I bet your pug is happy to snuggle by you!

Have a good Thursday. Cold here, too, but very sunny. Snow melting. Thank goodness.

That's awesome about the vaccines!

My students dissect cow's eyes every semester when we are in person. Right now, they just get to watch the video on my youtube. I like the eye dissection, the inside is so cool.

It was warm enough that I felt confident running pre-sun up, still cold, but at least most of the ice is gone.

Currently, I'm hanging out downstairs instead of in my office, and my pug is right next to me acting like he's working on the computer. He's funny.

Wednesday: Well, we got appointments. 1st dose of Moderna is Friday. Then dose #2 is 02 April. I am so relieved that weíll be vaccinated before going to Mayo. That is a comfort to me.

I did lots of deep cleaning and cooking so if I have down time after the vaccine weíre covered!

Wonderful Wednesday, hugs.

Melissa: OH my gosh. I really liked tongue. I remember in my undergrad anatomy and physiology class we had to dissect a cows eye. I still have a memory of that and think thatís about the only thing I wouldnít eat! LOL

WE are @ 44! Hallelujah and more melting. Glad your weather is warming a bit.

I have had almost every part of a cow that they sell at this point except for only a few things. Today, I'm picking up meat, and I have an arm roast, which is a new one for me, so that should be fun. It sounds like that will be a braising cut. The other thing I have never had is sweet breads, so I need to ask my farmers about that, because it isn't on most of their cut lists. The one time we did tongue I liked it okay, but my partner not so much. He's way pickier than me.

Far less cold this morning, in the 20s, so my face should not feel like an icicle the way it did yesterday. I only did 2 miles yesterday because the wind chill was so bad ("feels like -11"), and the pups barely made it half a mile.

Have a good Wednesday!

Tuesday: Jason had PT and did very well. Next appointment on Monday. Thank goodness. Glad for the improvements.

Today . . . . will continue the vaccine quest.

Hugs and terrific Tuesday.

Melissa: Yes, cold and windy here, too. BUT the sun is out.

Never had beef heart, but have had beef tongue. Like pastrami.

It is cold and windy this morning, ugh. After so many nice days, this is going to feel really icky, but at least it's the coldest I can see, and even though the rest of this week remains chilly, not much more snow. Well, if March comes in like a lion (and it was roaring with the wind yesterday!) it should go out like a lamb ... right?

I have a beef heart today that I will put in my crockpot! Yay. I like beef heart. It's a big one too, so I'm planning to make at least three meals out of it. Tonight will be heart with cheddar bread and gravy, tomorrow I'm making stir fry with heart and broccoli, and then I've got a recipe with Peruvian spices.

I cannot deal with how fast things are moving right now. I had a lot of things I wanted to be finished with by March - and it is March, and those things are not done! I could be doing worse, but I'm definitely behind in a lot of my class stuff, and other stuff. My stress level is just a smidge higher than I like (and I generally live in a state of mild, insanity stress), and I can tell because I've been craving sweet things way more. Also, my weights a bit on the up side, which is probably more a cortisol problem than a food problem, because I haven't actually been eating the sweet things (though I could probably stand to slow down on nut butter).

However - I did run/walk 102 miles in February, even with frigid temps and ice, so I'm calling that a win. It's raining and 40 this morning, but I'll be going for at least a short run soon here. I'm hoping that the sidewalks are finally mostly cleared up!
