You were right WhiteAngel. I called the vet and told them she has quite the cold and they resceduled the appointment. I wouldn't have called if it had been for your post so thank you. Denise

Had a surgery in July. The weight has been creeping up on me since then. Think I was nervous about exercising. Not an excuse. Seriously was worried about damaging myself. Lost 100lbs back in 2009....20lbs back in past 3 1/2 months. Gotta get active....

A lot of animals come from animal shelters with respiratory viruses and usually they are pretty easy to treat. My vet told me that a lot of those animals have immune systems that are somewhat suppressed because of having been stray and/or having to spend time in a cage at the shelter. 2 or our 3 most recent adopted kittens came to us with slight respiratory problems that were cured pretty quickly. Sick kittens always make me feel so sad. emoticon I hope that whatever Rosy has going on is mild enough that it's easy to cure.

There was much rejoicing!

I hope Rosy is feeling better soon and back to her kitten ways. I know right now my kitties seem to be sneezing a lot more than usual. I figure it is because of the weather changing and the fact they are spraying the cotton so it pops and they can harvested it. It seems they all get the sniffles around this time of year.

I help out at our local shelter.

This fall we have seen a lot of cats and dogs with colds due to the weather change and also because of people coming in with colds that are not washing their hand before touching them.

One advice I would give to you is make sure the kitty litter pan is clean. If she has loose stool I would wash it more that what you would.

Let us know how she is doing.

Is Rosy a puppy?
I've had a lot of fosters from the kill shelters that came with kennel cough, different symptoms including cough, sneezing, nasal discharge, fever. Other than putting her on antibiotic right away to prevent pneumonia, the treatment is symptomatic, if the fever is high-baby Aspirin, if the cough is too bad-Robitussin DM or some homeopathic meds, keeping warm, cleaning nose if necessary, also giving vit C and may be some immunity increasing supplement will definitely benefit. All my fosters, even with pneumonia/bronchitis recovered in a couple of weeks, including seniors.
Good luck with her!

She has a cold. She's walking around sneezing up a storm. Usually all over me when she's on my lap. She had a small cold at the ASPCA but the woman told me not to worry about it. Anyway, I have an appointment for shots, physical and spaying arrangements at a Animal Hospital on Tuesday. Poor little rosy can't catch a break. Denise
