I thought Bobby and David looked great. Rachel looked like a skeleton--she went way beyond slim....

Tumi!!!! Home prize, no one deserved it better than her. I was hoping David would win, he looked awesome.

Now Rachel, when she came out I was shocked at how thin she was. So were the trainers, I saw their faces when the camera panned on them. I think a lot of people were kind of taken back at her appearance. I was so hoping she wouldn't win. What a poor example promoting others to lose weight. No one wants to look like a skeleton, except an anorexic. I don't think she is that, but that girl will gain weight like no other, after it's all over. She is competitive, and it really showed there. I was really disappointed. But overall the contestants were pretty amicable with each other. Rachel is no Ali!!!

I just had to check in and see if anyone else had commented on Rachel. My first statement to my hubby when she walked out was that she looked anorexic. I remember reading an article when Helen won the finale and she said that afterwards her Dr. told her she needed to gain some weight back...I am guessing the same would be true for Rachel. This was a great season--the contestants genuinely seemed to respect and care about each other. That was really great to see instead of all the back stabbing and game-playing that has typically gone on.

I'm really glad Rachel won, I do think she went a little over board, but I think she will put some back on now that she is done with the show..
I'm not sure how tall she is, so I can't say whether she is a healthy weight or not, but I know runners tend to be slim.
I hope that Jill and Bob and Dolvette talk to her about keeping it healthy and not losing any more.
I think she is going to be fine though.. she seems like she has a good head on her shoulders.

I think enough people felt that Rachel was too thin, that the BL family will definitely intervene to get her some help. Other finalists have gotten too thin for the finale in order to win, then put on a few healthy pounds afterward (like Helen). Rachel was obviously too thin. My 13 year old weighs more than her!!!

I also felt kind of bad for Allison and the trainers. They were on live tv and needing to figure out (on the spot) how to respond. Allie is supposed to be excited for the contestants, but it would've been tough with Rachel...and after Bob and Jillian's initial response, they never showed them again.

Definitely not the finale I expected. Lots of my joy drained at seeing Rachel.

I was surprised at how little time was spent on the makeovers. I didn't get home until 8:20 and only saw part of the hair cuts. Did they show any clothing selections? A lot of footage with families, but I was hoping for more makeover stuff.

7 people left 3 weeks to go. One of the weeks is the finale so 7-2 out of the 5 people only 3 go to finale.

I watched the episode! In ways I like that it's back to 2 hours but at same time not happy! Was sad to see Tumi leave. But after all it is a game and if I had to pick between them I would pick the person who is the bigger threat, which sadly to say is Tumi. Only 4 weeks to go. My question is usually it is the final 3 and there is still a lot of people in the house, how are they planning to get most of the people gone from the house in the next 3 weeks?

i think it was the fact they tried to find a reason to bring rebuen back that was one of the reasons i lost interest i felt it was unfair. the other reason was it was off the air for a couple weeks.

nice to have a 2 hour show last night but enough with Ruben already! The dudes been sent home 2x already and now he's back again! Just change the name of the show to "The Biggest Ruben" and get it over with. The show keeps losing 400 lbs but it keeps coming back!

@Neshama: I agree. The game play and drama was ridiculous at times. I know there are people who miss it but without it the people seem more norm; relatable. Biggest loser love to keep us on our toes re: nutrition. They really seem secretive about it when I think about it. I used to like when they had a contestant/ or trainer prepare a quick meal and serve it to everyone. Remember O'Neill making that chili for everyone? Then when he went home he made it for his wife emoticon Le sigh, I really miss the older seasons sometimes.

I like the lack of drama and game play. That said I would like to see more attention on nutrition. What are contestants being told to eat. How are they really eating? What is being done to support them emotionally. It might get interesting next week when they go to singles. I have also watched since the beginning and don't mind the one hour format either.

It was a good night for the Red Team and for the dude whose first wife died. He was their hero for sure.

And who didn't know the Blue Team was going to lose and Bob was going to use his save? They telegraphed that for miles!

Those "saves" were a waste to me--and only prolonged things unnecessarily so I'm glad they're gone now. Is it going to be the red line all the way through--and no more yellow line and voting? I think I like this red line thing.

Glad they all love Ruben as much as I do!

yeah the 4 pound pentaly was a little harsh, I do think they wanted to find a reason to bring ruben back as they spent quite a bit of time on him last night. Dolvet is not a bad singer.

I liked Ruben, so I'm glad he's back for whatever reason. What I don't like is that Craig had to go home instead. If they wanted to penalize Jillian for her decision/choice, they could have banned her from the gym for a day or two---not penalize the team for something that wasn't their fault.

And why a four pound disadvantage? Resetting the week and doing it over was enough.

What isn't fair, is to punish her team with the four pound disadvantage, that was not right at all.

The caffeine pills vs coffee is something the contestants have always done right before the weigh-ins. The producers didn't want to lose Reuben so early in the season, so they used the caffeine pills as a way to to "reset" the week and bring him Back. Jillian was the sacrifice.

I don't know what was up with Jillian since this is definitely not her first time at the rodeo and so you know she knows the rules but I am so thankful that Ruben gets to come back. I was so bummed that he was sent home. I love my Velvet Teddy Bear!

Now do you think all of this was legitimate or "made-for-TV-drama" to keep things interesting?

Also, how much real time elapsed from Ruben's going home to him getting the nod to come back. It was only a week the way the shows aired, but there's been some talk about how are they going to count Ruben's weight loss at home---as if he'd been there for a while. Any insights?

I don't know if the same TV commercials play in other areas of the country....but what's up with the pizza commercials during the Biggest Loser? Someone has a twisted sense of humor!

Is it just me or are they not showing the last chance workouts anymore? That's the best part.

Did you see the previews for the temptation challenge. Good gosh you would think the contestants would realize that in the end the game doesn't matter. Bob always says how he hates the temptaion challenges but I guess we are all tempted everyday and we have to learn to get through and move beyond the temptations.

I like the idea of a trainer's save---I just hate that the trainers have used the saves so early (except for Bob who hasn't had the opportunity yet). Why not just give everyone a free pass the first week---no eliminations, then get hard core.

I'd rather see the trainers use their saves when the other contestants get 'stupid' and 'petty' and vote off someone who really deserves to be there because they're playing the game. Unless they plan to stick with the red line all the way through and forego the yellow line and voting!

So far, though, it does seem as if everyone is there for the right reasons and I haven't noticed any game playing. With their first temptation coming up next week, though, that may change.

Hi,
I finally got to watch the show last night. I was so glad to see Dolvett use the coach save. It is hard enough to feel like you have never been saved and shed some emotional baggage. I was so happy to see that young lady get saved and know she has a chance for success in her life.

I am missing the longer format too. In one way the one hour program helps me because I am not sitting the whole two hours and find something to do afterwards. However, I really don't feel like I am really coming to know the contestants. In the past it always seemed like there was that one contestant that I felt a connection with. I enjoyed watching their progress, and I felt more motivated to lose weight myself. Oddly enough, I am losing weight without the need for motivation right now. Maybe this God's way of saying, "You are doing this on your own." I hope all is going well with you. Happy weekend!

I prefer the longer format, think it would be a better season with just a little bit more added into the mix.

That said, still has potential for something interesting to happen lol.

I wish it had been 2 hours for the first show at least. Right now doesn't look like slot of drama which is great! And I always root for the underdog and right now David is the one. I can't wait to get know the contestants. So excited for tonight's show. I hope that all the trainers use their save for whoever is first bc that eliminates a lot of drama. And the contestants won't have a save or think oh he didn't use it on him he will save it for me etc. (Make sense??) anyway, glad it's back! Can't wait to see it!

You are so right. We do need to hear more every day stories, and the not so every day stories. I gave it all up for a boy too. My story didn't go as well. My relationship turned violent on our wedding day. It took me six years and three children later to realize that nothing was going to get better. I eventually left, but not before eating my way up to 280 lbs. I ate because of a lot of things, but mostly because I felt disappointed and cheated. I lost the weight and was down to 198. I regained a lot of it due to stress, and I had a really big loss in 2009 that I just didn't know how to move past. This year I finally started losing weight. When my stress level dropped, my weight started to drop too. I guess the grief will always be something I carry with me. It has gotten easier, but definitely has not gone away. I look forward to hearing more stories; both the every day stories and the not so every day stories!

I watch the Biggest Loser, after buzz on you tube. I guess Rachel's (I think that's her name) story wasn't enough of a sob story because the host had no sympathy or empathy for the fact that she talked about giving it all up for a boy. The truth is that is an everyday story. I am sure that some girls or women for that matter can relate to giving up on their dreams after meeting a guy. I am sure that her regret over that decision ate away at her and she in turn ate away at her feelings. Just my thoughts. I would like for them to get more people with the average stories that we can all relate to but maybe that wont be as good for TV. TV is built around drama. Excited to see what is in store for next week.

I agree with you LIVING_MERCY I don't think it's fair if you don't have something going on in your life (besides wanting to lose weight) you don't make it on the show.
I like the show anyway but rather not see all the drama.

Sunny BL is on NBC and you can watch it online at www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser

My biggest problem is that every season they are having people with more and more sob stories... Don't get me wrong there are people who have been through a lot and yes they probably deserve to be there. But I would like to see normal everyday people who may not have gone through a catastrophe to get where they are. There are plenty of people myself included that could be encouraged and inspired by those people as well. Just sayin.. I don't begrudge anyone getting the experience.

I loved the show this week. I am looking forward to a challenge from this team. I have always liked reubens personality and it is nice to see him here. He insp[ired many on american Idol and now he can inspire many more to take care of their health.

I am glad that Jillian used her save. I truly did not one to see anyone go home this week. It was too soon. Besides I want everyone to win emoticon

I have a feeling that this season will be hard for me to see anyone go home.

i like the idea of having the Red Line too.... sometimes our Bodies don't reflect the hard work we've done during the week? but at least, as you say? it would eliminate the Drama and Game Playing of having others Vote one off....

Really wish they would keep the red line in play the whole way through. It would keep a lot of the drama down and would encourage them to work hard every week. The trainers know whose working to their ability and who is not, that way the trainers save can come into play. Really surprised Jillian used it so soon.
