Good Afternoon to ALL of MY Yakima team mates!!

We are nearly through week #2 of the spring 5% and am glad to see the scale number dropping 3 #!! Having outside chores is helpful. With watering and gardening and overall clean up to prepare for a veggie garden its nearly unavoidable!
I hope the Spring weather has put a "spring" in your step! This sunshine is beautiful. I washed a window so the sunrise is even more splendid!!
Do any of you ever walk the greenway? Or hike on some of our fabulous trails? It would be fun to meet some of you sometime! Maybe we could plan something sometime!
I want to encourage you to just keep moving YOU ARE SO WORTH WHATEVER IT TAKES NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today is the first day of the 2021 Spring 5% challenge!! Im not off to a good start with only 10 minutes of exercise in and an increase in my starting weight because I sat on my keester most of the winter emoticon But thankful its not even 4#! emoticon I am trying to be positive and productive because I am so easily unmotivated!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey there Yakima Sparkers emoticon

Since April is just around the corner I thought I would bring up an old thread from the past. This post is before I found our local group. I have been a Spark people member for 6 years almost emoticon I was so happy to learn that there was a local group because I need some real accountability! It was a pretty much inactive group. There were a few faithful members still hanging on. I met up with the main leader Karrilee and had some coffee and a visit and got the permission to post as a leader. This has been very educational in several ways! We still are a slow group but were still here! I would love to see a bit of a revival in our group that would restore some of our former glory of activity. What do you all say? Can we fuel the conversations and excitement that we have with those we know who can benefit from an active and alive bunch of like minded folks just striving to make life better.
Lets be what we need for each other!!

Hey Team...

How is everyone? Did anyone run/walk in the fun run 5K last wknd? I forgot all about it - but it was perfect weather for it! It would be fun to gather a 'team' of us to do one of the outings around town soon...

I finished up P90X on Sunday... however I am 'redoing' the final week/recovery before I weigh in and remeasure... (for a few reasons!) I am rather discouraged however because I was so hoping this would jumpstart me into losing again. I have now hit the two YEAR mark of being stuck on a plateau... I stuck with P90X for the whole time - and while I WILL attempt the Lean version again in the late Fall (when the weather starts to get yucky again and I won't mind being stuck inside working out so much!)... I did not get the results I hoped for! I don't think I lost any weight - and very little inches if any! Sure - I am STRONGER... and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I followed through and I can do more push ups and pull ups (albeit modified versions!) than I ever thought possible!

I 're-signed up' for SparkPeople using a different User Name - just curious to put in all my new/current info and see where they would put my ranges, etc. I will attempt to follow that and go back to using their free calorie burn rate for exercises - instead of what my expensive HRM says! My heart rate monitor ALWAYS says I burned way more - but I realized that that is about when I stopped losing weight as well... so maybe their underestimating is more in line with what I am needing to do? At this point I am willing to try anything new - since - you can imagine after 2 years I have tried nearly everything!

Anyway - we need to plan a Spark Lunch or outing soon... maybe we can meet up again at the Greenway soon for lunch and a walk (or a walk, and then lunch)... we'll see who all is open to that!

Spark On Yakima... with Spring - well - springing finally - there is plenty to do around our area to keep us moving and active! We can do this!
