Make a donation. Clear the clutter in your home and give all those "extras" you don't use to someone who needs them. By downsizing, organizing and giving, you'll help yourself and others at the same time.


I like freecyle.org and just gave 2 big bags of clothes to goodwill. We also have a Heart & Hand store here in town and an Angels on Call store. All are really great places to take good unwanted items.

Exercise regularly. Physical activity produces "feel good chemicals" (endorphins) in the brain, which promote satisfaction and well-being. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise, most days of the week.

YES, THE DOCTOR AT THE PHYSIO GAVE HIM SOME EXERCISES WHICH HE SAYS HE IS DOING, BUT I KNOW HE IS NOT...HE DAY DREAMS ALOT AND THE ONLY WAY I GET HIM TO EXERCISE IS WHEN I DO MY CAT WALKING...ON HIS OWN HE DOES NOT BOTHER BUT GOING TO TAKE YOUR ADVICE ABOUT THE VIDEO WHILE WATCHING TV...THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME OUT....IT WILL ALSO GIVE ME SOME POINTERS AS WELL...YOU ARE A GREAT TEAM... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Get plenty of sleep. Keep a consistent sleep schedule and get 7-8 hours each night for more energy and less moodiness.

With the shorter days and getting dark so early, this is probably an easy one!

Has the doctor given him any exercises to do or maybe suggested physical therapy at a rehab center? How about a local YMCA or Community Center? If he likes to watch TV maybe a "Walk A Way The Pounds" video. He can do it at his own pace. Stop & rewind as needed. There is also a team called Armchair Exercisers here on Spark and an article Exercising with COPD. I'll see if I can find the links and send them to you. Good Luck!

I DO NOT HAVE COPD...I HAVE ASTHMA BUT MY FIANCE HAS COPD...HE IS NOT WITH SP AND IS GOING THROUGH ME...HE ONLY SEEMS TO EXERCISE OUTDOORS IF I GO WALKING WITH HIM...HE SEEMS TO BE DOWN BY WATCHING TV ALL THE TIME...I CANNOT SEEM TO GET OUT MUCH AS I HAVE SPINAL PROBLEMS AND OSTHEOARTRITIS IN BOTH KNEES...I DO MY EXERCISING INDOORS...THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO HELP HIM...ANY SUGGESTIONS...SPANKY
