Yes, definitely go to a running store and get fitted for the proper running shoes!

I was nervous about starting this week because I really struggled last week but figured it was the same workout just one extra 5 minute session. Very proud of myself, just kept saying I can do it, just keep going a little longer. I seem to hit the 1:30 mark and feel so winded. Assuming this will get better since 2 weeks ago I was winded at 1 minute. I am not currently tracking my miles per minute...don't want that to discourage me. My knees ached a bit more tonight too...maybe I need better shoes? Overall ver happy since I have never been a runner AND weather here in Michigan was upper 90's today and I stuck it out, drenched but finished

Just finished Week 3 Day 1...I just starting running 3 weeks ago. Not a runner, whatsoever, prior to doing this. It feels like it's getting easier but I am still struggling. I just keep telling myself..."you can do it, just a little farther." I have noticed my shins are starting to hurt afterward, especially after the stretches. Any ideas how to prevent in the future.

It's also been in the 90's and humid here in Wisconsin since I started this, so I am looking at that as an accomplishment as well. YAY ME!

Yeah, all I did was mow outside today, and I'm drenched. If I were running, I'd probably dehydrate pretty quickly.

Susie, that didn't last though. The headline of this mornings newspaper read *Sweltering August in Store: Temps gonna feel like 110*

Um, I think we've noticed that already.....

Wow, Suezette! 77 must feel like paradise! That's why all my runs have been indoors. It's been 95 degrees and up here. Today was qute a bit cooler at 85.

WTG!

I'm on the coast in Central FL and the weather here this morning was the coolest it's been in months! 77* for my run...with a nice breeze. It was really a welcome relief for a change.

Did week 3, Day 1 this morning at the gym on a treadmill out of the 90+ & 100% humidity of south FL, plus the rainstorms that come out of nowhere! Did 7 intervals. I'm a week behind as I'm supposed to be in week 4 so I'm going to try to catch up if I can.

Woohoo to everyone who is keeping this going!

LOL, Newlife. I am really pretty slow. But it's okay. I do the best I can, while still enjoying the journey. That's what it's all about. Results are great! But isn't it that much sweeter if you had a good time getting there?

HI!!! Tomorrow is Week 3, Day 2 for me... and I am pretty sure I am not going as fast as you...lol!
I enjoy my running ( as much as I don't) but I like the fact that I am only competing against myself. I run because I never finish anything and this is a promise that I must keep to myself. Keep up the good work, keep you chin up and remember that half of the excitement of reaching the finish line is the road you took to get there!!!
( I would have a pic of myself here if I knew how....)

WAY TO GO!!!!

I just did W3-D1 this morning and ended up going slower, too. Not sure if it was just naturally harder or if it was a result of the heat & humidity. (It was 7AM and I felt like I was in a sauna. Ohhh, Pittsburgh in July...)

But definitely celebrate that you did it! At the end of the day, that is what counts. Congrats on not giving up and instead, finding the positive!

And that's the important part. It's *YOUR* own, personal journey. It's so important to enjoy it! :) You did well to pat yourself on the back for your success. :)

Suezette is right, so many factors go into speed. I bet your next run will totally ROCK! :)

Lots of things can affect your pace...the weather, how you fueled, dehydration, sore muscles, etc. Don't dwell on that one day. There will be good days of running and bad days.

Just keep running!

I started week 3 today. I was a little disappointed that my pace (14:18min/mi) was slower than it was for week 2 day 3(13:53min/mi). But I decided not to focus on the negative and pat myself on the back for simply completing the task. I would have normally given up by now in sheer disgust with myself but nope, not this time. I'm determined to keep plugging away at this. And I am and will be proud of myself. YAY ME!!!
