Jan 5 185.1 I gained 2 lbs while away, but I was high already. This is the most I have ever weighed, time to be really serious!

Jan 8 183.4. Got rid of most of that 2lb gain. But it might just have been water retention due to a slice of pizza the day we flew home. NOW the real work begins.

Jan 15 182.9. But by bit. It actually would have been better if I had not eaten what I did yesterday.

Jan 22 182.5. I donít have a cold, but I have a bit of a runny nose, so I am fighting getting one, and my activity level has been less. But staying in place is also to do with some of my food choices this week.

Jan 29 not much progress this week. See what I am going to write in the encouragement thread.

Jan 31 oh well

I'm not too sure what to think. I was not expecting to have lost weight this week, but neither was I expecting to have gained 3.5 lbs. I did eat some foods I don't normally eat anymore. Foods that most people can eat, but I cannot. I have to be really careful with grains, even though I do like to have savoury oatmeal for breakfast. Time to regroup!

Well happy new Year everyone!

Well December ended well .However I have no excuses for January, other than I was like a bump on a log eating leftovers and indulging in food (and drinks) I shouldn't have, and it shows on the scale. I wasn't posting much and not really tracking. So back to that again.

So true,Rejj - in the midst of all that might be going on, we still need to take care of ourselves. And the health issues, both for ourselves and for people we care about, tend to increase as we get older and those we care about do too. I hope the health issues in your family are resolved soon.

It's been a pretty challenging start to 2019, with some family members having serious health problems. One thing I know is that if I want to continue being part of the solution rather than becoming part of the problem, I need to take care of my own health! And I plan to do so as much as possible.

So I am slow but sure - little ups and downs, bumps in the road - but enjoying life and can see 33 lbs gone - and a nice number of inches! Happy New Year and the very best as we work towards our goals.....I started off my new year by having two of the grandchildren for their first sleepover at Grandma's without Mommy & Daddy - Angus not quite 3 and Eloise 6 months - and it went really well - whew!

My goal is to get down to 135 lbs. I think that it's within reach in the coming year. I would need to lose about 1/2 lb/week to get there. I think that it's doable. But, my focus is not necessarily on the weight coming off. When I follow Dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian way of eating (consuming as many nutrients as possible with every calorie I put into my mouth), I lose weight. It's hard to overeat beans and kale!

I invite all of you to participate in the January 2019 weight loss challenge. Itís easy - Jan 1 weigh yourself and record it here. Continue doing it once a week. It is not a contest here - it is a way to be accountable to ourselves and to others. And to encourage each other.
