Seems simple, but must remain a focus to accomplish:

1. PLAN in advance for meals and activities.
2. Track calories EVERY day ALL day.
3. Limit alcohol.
4. Work outdoor activities into every day. I have a big yard that needs attention too!

I WILL do this. emoticon

Laura - I hope you don't mind me using the same goals as you!

1. Limit alcohol, specifically - wine (my weakness). Adds too many calories & increases my appetite.
2. Walk (outside) at least 4 times a week, minimum of 30 minutes. Or if the weather won't cooperate, do a SP video.
3. Get back to my strength training routine.

There! Now I just have to follow through!

BerkyB-

As redundant as it sounds, setting a goal to be a better goal setter is an essential step, in my opinion. It was actually one of my first goals on Spark. To set a goal and actually meet it. The reason I love it is the more I do it, the easier it becomes. Awesome goals.

Those are fantastic goals. My goal setting sucks. Badly. Here are my goals for fall.

1. Work on setting reasonable goals and rewards.

2. Drink 8 cups of water EVERY DAY.

3. Eat at least 2 servings of fruits/veggies a day.

4. Go to the gym at least 3 times a week.

I think those are reasonable, attainable goals that still push me beyond what I'm doing now.

Thanks!

I will go first. I didn't want to muddy up the challenge post with my goals for fall.

1. Keep alcohol to a minimum. Since I cut back on my drinking my energy has been up, my weight has dropped (7 pounds!) and my moods have stabilized. Score 1 for Laura.

2. Keep exercise up. I want to get at least 2000 fitness minutes a month. For the fall I am going to focus on out door exercise!

3. Strength training! I am going to keep rocking the strength training. I am getting about an hour a week. I plan to continue to bump that up. I am shopping for a bench/weight set as we speak.

I have gotten a great response to the call for challenge suggestions. I am getting organized to start rolling these out on a regular basis.

A common theme among the suggestions is that there is no common theme. Everyone has suggested something lovely and unique to their needs.

But another common theme has been that winter is coming up and people want to get geared up to make it through this relatively rough season, healthfully.

So the fall challenge is this:

Set some personal goals for the season. They can be
emoticon Weight loss goals,
emoticon Diet goals
emoticon Spark goals or
emoticon Live life goals. (I don't like to call it REAL life, because online life is real too.)

Focus your goals on habits that you want to create or break, things that will set you nicely for the winter months.

You can do this in this thread or in a blog, but if you post a blog, post the link in this thread so that we can show you some support.
